Flynn registers as "agent of principal" - retroactively

Apparently Mike Flynn, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, was actually a foreign agent who received a half million dollars to promote the interests of a foreign government.
And he forgot to register until now...

Flynn registers as foreign agent with Justice Dept. for Turkey work during campaign.

Apparently, during the "extreme vetting" favored by the Trump organization, no one asked "Are you on the payroll of a foreign government?"
Just slipped their mind.....

Flynn is a foreign agent under what definition and why does it matter?

UHHHH.....what was that?? Why does it matter that OUR--that's OUR national security advisor is registered as a foreign agent?
OUR--that would be America's-- national security adviser is supposed to be an honest broker within the executive branch, pulling together military and diplomatic options for the president so he can decide what policy to pursue. But Flynnís work potentially benefiting Turkey meant he was representing the interests of a country other than the United States at the same time he was advising Trump on foreign policy during the election.

I'm just guessing but......conflict of interest??

The OP is fake news. There is a difference between a FARA "foreign agent" and a FISA "foreign agent." The terms are different as well. The term under FISA is an "agent of a foreign power" and under FARA the term is an "agent of a foreign principal." Two seperate meanings.

Other issues such as conflict of interest are a different set of issues. Prosecuting for not registering will be problematic because of the history and precedent of the DOJ's lax enforcement of FARA.

You really don't have a clue do you?
You can't see why a person working as an adviser on a political campaign, and accepting the position of National Security Adviser, should maybe inform people, say the people he was working for on the campaign, or maybe the people vetting him for National Security Adviser, that he was being paid a half million dollars to act on behalf of a foreign government.

You seem to be in the know regarding how vetting works, how FARA works, and have an inside connection of why Flynn was late in his filing. Did Slate give you that information?

What the Progs think they know, and what is reality, there is a wide gulf between.
