For once I agree with jimmyb.

There SHOULD be a test for who can vote and who cannot.

The sooner we stop people like jimmyb from voting the better.

I agree that anyone who wants their magic mans laws to be enforced on society is wrong.
Here's the thing, the Moore's are American citizens. They have the RIGHT to vote and usual their rights to influence laws and legislation HERE.
Who gives a fuck what some extremist Muslim living in a fucking cave in Afghanistan believes or fucking wants.

So, yes indeed, the Moores are of more concern to me.

jimmyb continues with his fantasy that the states have the power to do whatever they wish within their own borders and that this is the system that the Founders established.

We know this is a fantasy for one simple reason.

The Bill of Rights.

If the Founders had envisioned a country made up of separate states, each free to run their own business in regards to the rights of the individual citizens then the Bill of Rights is completely worthless.

What difference does it make if the Federal Government says you have freedom of religion if the state of Mass. can make a law that says that only Presbytarians have any rights inside of the state?

What is the purpose of guaranteeing freedom of speech if New York can censor you all they want?

Why have a 2nd Amendment right to bear arms if Pennsylvania can take them away whenever they feel like it?

As much as jimmyb loves to deny it, the Constitution owes far more the Enlightenment then it does to the Bible. (It, in fact, owes nothing to the Bible) and the Enlightenment, at it's core, is about erasing dogma (and religion is nothing BUT dogma) and replacing it with reason. The idea that the government has the power to do something because of a paper written in the 11th century (or even the 1st century) stands in direct opposition to what the Enlightenment stands for.

The speed of light since I'm not running.

You are, as usual, deflecting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to provide one shred of evidence that the Founders meant for the Bill of Rights to apply to the states, or any part of the Constitution from the Enlightenment, or that many parts of the Constitution are not based on the Bible.

You're the one claiming that the Constitution is based on the Bible and the God that it never mentions, so that is up to you to prove.

As far as Bill of Rights applying to the states, I have already asked the simple question that you have continually refused to answer.

If the Bill of Rights does not apply to the states then why have it at all?
Thanks from Hollywood

I didn't overlook it, I just don't have to quote your inane post to respond to it.

What is the purpose of the Bill of Rights if the states can ignore them?
Thanks from Hollywood
