More recently, however, Musk has used his wealth to invest in space travel, solar panels, and electric cars. There wasn't anything wrong with that until Musk dragged the government into it. Tesla Motors, SolarCity, and SpaceX—a few of his highest-profile projects—have relied heavily on government subsidies. According to a 2015 article in the Los Angeles Times, these three companies "together have benefited from an estimated $4.9 billion in government support." And though none of these projects is profitable on its own, Musk is making a mint.

Is this the same as the "corporate welfare" given to oil companies which doesn't exist?

It contains at least some lies there ex. That figure includes subsidies given to people buying e-cars and solar cells. Not to Musk or his companies.

And this article too has all kinds of weasel words like "up to" and "estimated" and so on.

But that's the type of RW facts you have been pushing on here for years and years.

So if you have a product that is $2 ( or like one million Canadian ) and jimmyb has a similar product for $1 but if I buy yours then IT will pay me $1 to make the difference. You still get the whole $2 that I probably wouldn't have given you w/o the insentive. Still counts it is just a slight of hand.

Dealing with this RNG character isn't worth the time, I have him on ignore. Life is too short to deal with the 24/7 obtuse posters that seem to be awfully fond of their own postings around here. Probably whines to the powers-that-be regularly too.

And sad, but amusing, that he thinks the Los Angeles Times is "RW", whatever that may mean in his frozen mind.
