House Votes To Let 'Em Die

After years of promises and months of delays, House Republicans passed their version of an Obamacare repeal and replacement Thursday, muscling the far-right legislation through their chamber by feverishly pressuring moderates in the closing days.

Republicans passed the bill 217-213, with 20 Republicans voting “no” and not a single Democrat voting in support.

But what seems like a victory for House Republicans may ultimately be their downfall.

And now they head home for town meetings.
That's where they are going to get an earful, It only takes a couple of GOP senators to kill this thing, and what the senate passes, if the senate passes anything, won't be what the House passed.

And to actually repeal ObamaCare, they need 60 votes in the Senate, this is a reconciliation, a juggling of the numbers, that can be reversed by 51 votes and a House majority, when the Democrats next find themselves in that position.
which won't be that far away.
Everything Trump has done so far, can be reversed on the first day a Democrat is in the White House.

Not if it is working. If it does, Democrats will lose even more seats.

If it's even half as bad and what have I read, it's pretty bad.

There are a whole lot of Trumpeteers out there currently signed up under Obamacare. Wonder how they're going to feel about their fearless leader when they lose their coverage or see premiums go up as much as 750 % (according to CBO estimates from the first version of this bill. The house didnt wait for a CBO analysis this time around)
Thanks from Toefoot

Absolutely and have very little faith or trust with both parties and I am center right with most things (Ideology) except when it comes to progs as of late. I enjoy hunting progs. Prog burgers, Prog steaks, Prog Schnitzel, Prog jerky.

Less than 2 years to get it right before the next election cycle but I do not lie to myself, Republican or Democrats will find stupid or stupid will find them.
Thanks from Sabcat

This Prog (actually a bit left of center) SHOOTS BACK !!! LOLOLOL

But you're right I have zero faith in either party, and Trump is just completely off the reservation.

I got a letter that said I am immune from Obamacare when I turned sixty-five last year when Medicare started dunning my paltry SS retirement check for services that I never asked for and never received.
