Monuments and statues are brick and mortar memorials--nothing more. They are NOT our history. They are art work, created to glorify a divisive time which we now deem to be shameful. We have moved on.
Put the statues elsewhere--a Confederate museum--private property--a botanical garden--a battlefield--a wayside park.
No American is going to forget the Civil War.
The statues are part of history. Removing them is removing part of history. It is editing history.

They should not be on U.S. public lands.
There were no traitors. That is why the govenment did not prosecute Lee, Davis, et al. for treason: the government knew they would lose.

The memorials of honor in question are in memory of Democrats who supported slavery, Black Code laws, the KKK and segregation. We need to remember the Democrat Party's ugly past. Stop trying to erase markers of history.

JWK

They are neither “liberals” nor “progressives”. They are conniving Marxist parasites who use government force to steal and then enjoy the property which labor, business and investors have worked to create.

You intentionally ignorant and purposefully childish troll, Japanese internment camps are part of America's history, too - but we don't need statues to honor the guards.

With no username mentioned in a negative post, no harm no foul following strict DTT rules aka strict rules of golf.

There are the rainbows and unicorns that we have become accustom to.

That is an absolutely terrible analogy.

Today's Democratic Party has a lot in common with the Stalinists from days gone by. Liars, cheaters, & Godless, power grabbers.
