N. Korea can bloviate all they want. When that bloviating is fallowed with an overt action, we must respond. Decades of placating these rogue nations has proved fruitless. Drawing disappearing redlines has bolstered them. Trump has drawn a redline that the Chines and Russians are taking seriously. N. Korea had better take it seriously as well.

Nobody has FOR AN INSTANT suggested that an overt action be overlooked or forgiven.

But, you're right - for DECADES these idiots have made extraordinary and blindingly stupid arrogant bragging comments (you'd almost think they were Trump!) and our leaders have been wise enough to see it for what it is - powerless bully bragging. Now, we are stuck with a knee-jerk reactionary who takes them more seriously than they deserve.

What exactly was inaccurate, or idiotic, about his comments?

OK Marine, it is Idiotic because what he says is exactly what we have been doing since the end of the Korean War. We have negotiated and appeased North Korea so that now it's a nuclear power, a nuclear power in the hands of a megalomaniac who wants to eliminate South Korea, and establish his own basketball league, probably with Rodman as commissioner.

"Military solutions are locked and loaded"
KJU may be the worst human ever born.
- splendid -

BUT !!

He as a head of State would have to be spectacularly stoopit to not know that the U.S. has elaborate military assets at high state of readiness 24 / 7.

NYT David Brooks observed that officials that have military combat experience tend to simply present their case.
Whereas noobies like Trump that have squat, resort to rhetorical extremes the way Trump has, as in the quotation above.
Quote:
"... a tight grip is actually a sign of a weak hand."
President William Jefferson Clinton 99/04/07 C-SPAN
I suspect KJU might be more impressed with a calm, deliberate, confident deflection from the U.S. president, than Trump's desperate rhetorical arm-flailing.

From the poster who is consistently interjecting and is almost never on topic or even attempting to contribute to move the conversation forward.

How did the US "appease" the megalomaniacal leader[s] of North Korea.

Even Donald Trump...for all his bullshit, knows the US can not act unilaterally against NK. Even Donald Trump knows that China is the key. China, NK main ally and benefactor.

The same China, that has never before sided with the UN against NK.

Now it's time for the King of the Deal...the Deal Maker in chief to get off his lard ass and negotiate with China to see that UN sanctions are pressed to the limit to really hurt Kim Jong Un.

This is where President Bone Spur has to earn his keep.

All other President can be accused of kicking the can...lets hope this one can keep the US from kicking the bucket.

Trump should say. "One round expended, bore clear and no casualties." Time of flight 18 minutes.
