Those statues weren't put up to honor the Confederacy, those statues were put up to remind the black citizenry that even though it may look like the rebels lost, they were still in control.
Those statues were put up with evil motives, to perpetuate injustice, and tearing them down is justice.
Rip em down, erase any trace of the traitors.
And correct the history books, so you don't raise a bunch of idiots who think the Confederacy was a noble cause.

Did any individual state of what would become the Confederacy take their case to the SCOTUS?

Tear down the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument, rename the damned city. That is the real goal. Destructionist that you are.

And rename the Democrat Party too. The party of slavery, night riders, the Klan, segregation, Jim Crow laws. How can a nation tolerate that party still calling itself by the same name. And all the named places of Senator Byrd of WV, and other Democrat luminaries who were segregationists, they must be erased first.
And when it comes time to tear down that shit, who shows up? The Daughters of the Confederacy, no.
The Klan and the Nazis, because the Klan and the Nazis know what those statues stand for, and it's the same thing the KKK and the Nazis stand for.

At least one state had it in their ratification that they could leave at any time.

Lincoln decided they could not leave, and gave us that bloody war, while having had offered the states the original 13th Amendment that would have cemented slavery.
The South lost. Get over it.

And THAT is just the sort of thing that the SCOTUS is empowered BY THE CONSTITUTION to decide.

There is a damned good reason it is called the SUPREME COURT and NOT the Pretty Damn Important Court.

What's next, book burning, and removing all mention of the Civil War in history books? The removal of these statues should have been within the domain of the citizens of the state in which they reside.
And of course, we'll get the cursory twaddle about how the snowflakes are erasing history remark. Which is an obvious attempt at shutting down an argument. Which only makes you look more like a loon.

Which is why it's been called an Activist Court and the Constitution, a living document. And sheeple, such as yourself, condoning both without the slightest idea of what your giving up. If the SC says so...by God...it so?! Your just as empty-headed on this subject as you are any subject. Is there any wonder the rule of law no longer applies. Sad...really sad!
