Wouldn't it depend on how you see these statues of people who fought in the civil war. For the vast-majority of people who fought for the Confederacy it was not about slavery it was about states rights. The right of self determination. I'm not apposed to taking them down if they offend. But that should have been left to the determination of the people residing in those states. What we are witnessing are "authorities" making that moral determination for the citizens. That is not the job of the "authorities" without the consent of the citizens those determinations affect.

This is just a guess but, I thought the authorities were there to uphold the law and protect the citizens. What I saw was a Democratic mayor and governor absent. And then using the aftermath to make a moral determination for the citizens without their approval. Right or wrong, the scumbag White Supremacist had a legal right to demonstrate. Right or wrong, the police should have protected that right. They DIDN'T!! And as the Demo-rats are so fond of saying, never let an emergency go by that can't be taken advantage of. And take advantage they did.

One of these days, one of the usual Liberal suspects on this forum is going to think beyond what they are told to think by Liberal sheep herders, by applying a modicum of objectiveness.

Hate speech should be illegal in the US on both sides of the coin.

Perhaps we should buy them all an ice cream?

where is the proof that slavery ever happened.

I don't support slavery, not support white supremacy I support history.

WE NEED REMINDERS OF OUR HISTROY FROM THE BEST TO THE WORST EVENTS OF OUR HISTORY

If you forget sooner or later you will repeat the mistakes of the past.

Fine. I propose we tear down the statues of those who committed treason and replace them with statues of Harriet Tubman and Fredrick Douglass.

If the South woulda won

If the South woulda won, we woulda had it made
I'd probably run for President of the Southern States
The day Elvis passed away would be our national holiday

If the South woulda won, we woulda had it made
I'd make my Supreme Court down in Texas
And we wouldn't have no killers getting off free
If they were proven guilty, then they would swing quickly
Instead of writin' books and smilin' on TV

We'd all learn Cajan cookin' in Louisiana
And I'd put that capital back in Alabama
We'd put Florida on the right track, 'cause we'd take Miami back
And throw all them pushers in the slammer
