Congress Just Sent Trump A Resolution Forcing Him To Condemn White Nationalists

Congress just sent President Trump a joint resolution forcing him to condemn and use all available resources to address white nationalists, neo-Nazis, the KKK, and other Charlottesville type hate groups.

The bipartisan resolution passed the Senate Monday and the House Tuesday by voice vote. It was introduced in the Senate by Sens. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and a companion version with identical language was introduced in the House by Reps. Tom Garrett (R-VA) and Gerald Connolly (D-VA).

The resolution was prompted by the domestic terrorist attack in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 11 and 12th. The joint resolution will now be sent to President Trump’s desk to be signed by the man who supported and defended neo-Nazis and white supremacists after one of them murdered an innocent person.

The joint resolution (S. J. Res. 49) demands that Trump not only condemn white nationalists, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis and other hate groups, but calls upon him to use all available resources to improve data collection on hate crimes and to work in a coordinated way to address the growing prevalence of hate groups.

It describes the murder of Heather Heyer as a “domestic terrorist attack.”

“Our nation’s elected leaders have a responsibility to stand up to forces of hatred and bigotry wherever they may be found. What happened in Charlottesville was domestic terrorism perpetrated by white supremacists who tragically cut short the life of a young woman, Heather Heyer, and led to the deaths of two Virginia State Police troopers Berke Bates and Lt. Jay Cullen.

The United States Congress has spoken up with one voice to recognize the lives of those we lost, to unconditionally condemn racist speech and violence, and to denounce the white nationalists, neo-Nazis, the KKK, and other hate groups,” said the Senators in a statement sent to PoliticusUSA upon the passing of the joint resolution.

“We hope that President Trump will move quickly to sign this resolution and commit his Administration to address the rise of hate groups.”

This is something Congress actually accomplished in a bipartisan manner that is absolutely necessary.

It is beyond pathetic and disgraceful that this President needs a bipartisan resolution to force him to condemn neo-Nazis and white supremacists.

Well, maybe he can veto it, so as not to offend the "really fine people" who were in Charlottesville marching arm in arm with the Nazis.....

There were people there protesting the removal of the statue who were not KKK or white supremacists. That is fact, same on the other side as well, they were not all antifa. President Trump spoke the truth.

Trump condemned David Duke as far back as the early 1990's.

A BLM follower murdered five police in Dallas, where was the resolution against regressive hate groups?

Quote:
With several officers dead by the hand of a committed black nationalist, one might think the Obama administration may have considered the assassinations domestic terror and launched an investigation into groups associated with this ideology.

Not at all.

Barack Obama condemned the shootings, but he did not call out or even allude to Johnson’s hateful views. He did, however, blame “powerful weapons” for the violence.

In her statement on the shooting, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch exploited the tragedy to push for gun control and praise the cause of Black Lives Matter. No mention of Johnson’s ideology or “hate” in was made in her statement, but she did manage to directly name multiple cases of police-involved shootings — all after cops were the ones murdered.

Trump and his administration were urged to speak strongly against the alt-right on the presumption that there would further violence if none was taken.

In the case of the Dallas shooting, there was further violence from black nationalists following the attack. In the same month, three officers were gunned down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by an adherent to this radical ideology.

...

This violence has continued into the Trump era as well. A black Muslim, Kori Muhammad, murdered three white men in Fresno, California back in April, because of the color of their skin. Muhammad openly admitted this racial motivation in interviews with police and laughed about his murders. Prior to the killings, the shooter had made numerous anti-white social media posts and rap videos.

In May, a black nationalist, Derrick Lamont Brown, shot a paramedic and opened fire on police. The authorities were responding to Brown killing his roommate and shooting a neighbor. This black nationalist was associated with the Huey Newton Gun Club, to which Micah Johnson also had ties.

Based on this evidence, there seems to be a lot of violence associated with black power ideology. But there has hardly been any mention of it by the press. In the case of Kori Muhammad, most major outlets ignored the violence entirely, in spite of its clearly hate-filled nature. No condemnation was made of it by Trump or any other politician.

What a stupid waste of time when we have major need of real legislation. The Republicans in Congress better start getting their act together of those legislators will be out of jobs soon.

President already did that, a month ago, what a waste of taxpayers time and resources:
Quote:
Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.

Two days ago, a young American woman, Heather Heyer, was tragically killed. Her death fills us with grief, and we send her family our thoughts, our prayers, and our love.

Depends on the day....
Feb. 28 (2016) interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” by anchor Jake Tapper.

Tapper: I want to ask you about the Anti-Defamation League, which this week called on you to publicly condemn unequivocally the racism of former KKK grand wizard David Duke, who recently said that voting against you at this point would be treason to your heritage. Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don’t want his vote or that of other white supremacists in this election?

Trump: Well, just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke. OK? I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So, I don’t know.

Trump went on to say that he did not want to condemn any groups until he knew something about them. He told Tapper to “give me a list of the groups” and he would review them. But Tapper returned to Duke.

Tapper: OK. I mean, I’m just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but…

Trump: I don’t know any — honestly, I don’t know David Duke. I don’t believe I have ever met him. I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet him. And I just don’t know anything about him.

LOL

Shows that David Duke is not on Trump's mind.

He condemned Duke several times over the years. How many times more is needed? Typical of the left though, very typical.

Meanwhile, where's the condemnation of radical leftist groups who have killed as pointed out above.
