On the kneeling football players, we

hear their few supporters say over and over...they are protesting all the "injustices" suffered by the "colored" community. Please, just what "injustices" are they talking about in this nation....today??? What are they denied to participate in or to go to, because of the.. color.. of their skin; school, hotel, café, job, occupation, bus/train/plane, sports event, movie, play, park, highway., welfare programs, hospital..just what and where????

For these football players, averaging a salary of 2 million per year...do they ..or have they ever stopped to think of the picture they paint for their own children? Do they tell them you can't do, be, have, accomplish anything because of the color of your skin, even with my income????

Who fucking cares? If you really want to get your message out, stop watching the fucking game. That's true protest (ironic, now that you think about it) and it will actually make the NFL listen.

Long time football fans, my family has completely stopped watching any NFL...and it will be a long time until we do so again...depending on when and how we hear the participants and their supporters say...we did the wrong thing.

If the NBS pulls such stunts...we wont watch them either.

I have been an NFL fan for many years and I did not watch one game last year and not a game thus far this year. They lost me.

Congratulations guys! You've "evolved." The truth is: You should have stopped watching NFL football years ago. Pro football is a violent business that inflicts lifelong damage on its employees.

And common, you know it's a joke anyway, right? On any given play, multiple fouls are committed. The name of the game is cheating, getting away with it, and making money from doing it.

The kneelers have done you a service. You should thank them.
Thanks from Peter the Roman

So you stopped watching before any of this kneeling during the anthem business began.

That says something...

Vulgar vehemence aside:
without taking sides in the debate, my First Amendment right gives me the latitude to condemn the controversy.
If I wasn't interested in politics, my pseud wouldn't have racked up the score it has in this forum, in that time-span.

I don't think I'm out of line preferring that spectator recreation be apolitical, if not controversy free.

There's enough controversy and issue churning in our media-rich lives. Many if not most of us have a super-computer in our pocket.

I like the NFL & the NHL not merely for its own sake, but as refuge from the day to day.

Call me a purist.
But I have reservations about ads and corporate logos being displayed on screen during games, a breach the NHL may offend the worst.

Years ago, the most recent MLB game I saw had a green-screen behind the batter, so that the broadcaster could change the ad on screen during the game, even multiple times during the up.
I no longer watch, or have anything to do with MLB. And leaving it seems to have enriched my life.

This country is out of control DUE TO POLITICS. It's a sad state of affairs when everything you do--every decision you make---every company you use--every hobby you have--every TV station you watch--every restaurant/store you do business with and every sport you enjoy (or used to enjoy) is determined by your politics. AND some of it is just opinion--not fact.
Example: We have a neighbor who won't join AAA because he says they are all Democrats. Really?? Thousands of employees and millions of members are all Dems??
Remember Hobby Lobby? Chick fil a?? Starbucks cups??

People are leaving their churches DUE to politics. Families and neighbors are not speaking, due to politics. Public education is in peril because of politics. Our environment and climate are in jeopardy because of politics. Our health and safety are up for grabs due to politics.
This is astonishing to me. Where will it end? Will we stop buying carrots because we think the local farmer is a Democrat? Will we research Safeway to confirm the CEO's political party? Will we check out the electric company? The city planner? Costco? Ashley Furniture?? Where does this nonsense stop? Or maybe it doesn't.

(My bold)

Reading your post makes it clear that you have no idea why these players are taking a knee in the first place. HINT: It has nothing to do with the reasons you cite.
