Heard a few more details to the

proposed tax changes...interesting. A few days past, we heard someone on CNN say the lowest paid people would be losing the most...since the 10% bracket would be eliminated ..What they...forgot...to mention is that all single people will have the first $12,000 of income be ...tax...free, and the 15% bracket will reduce to 12%...no 10% one would remain. Also, married couples would have the first $24,000 be tax free. That is one big tax help for the lower income. Small/medium businesses would have a substantially lower tax rate and the top rate would be 35%, with only two others, 12% and 25%.

It is something to carefully consider, when talking about bringing overseas money and companies back to the US. Also, for all businesses a quicker way to write off equipment purchases etc, would put better or more equipment into a business and increase production, meaning more jobs, ranging from the production to the transportation etc of those things.

It all sounds good...and sure worth a good try.

Yup read a couple articles on how companies are planning to use those tax breaks and repatriated money to invest in ...................................

AUTOMATION !!!!

It will certainly increase production, but it will in all likely hood KILL far more jobs than it will create !!!!

US companies might use tax reform profits to invest in automation, experts say | Fox Business

automation? Well, jobs would then come from the production of that equipment needed. Not all jobs connected to the production and transportation or distribution/sales by retailers can be done by automation.

THESE poor schmucks. They actually believe (and have for decades) the ol' trick-trick-trickle down theory. They really, truly trust the CEOs--the stockholders--the board of directors and the powerful to HIRE more people, IF THEIR federal tax rate changes from 35% to 20%.

Am I missing something here OR is greed STILL thriving among the 1%??? AND, BTW, how does THAT affect the deficit??

Our unemployment rate is currently 4.2%.

Throughout the Obama years all we heard was JOBS JOBS JOBS. Well, now everyone who WANTS a job HAS a job. 4.2% is as low as it goes in this country and believe it or not--SOME PEOPLE don't have to work.

Some people don't WANT to work. WHAAA????? The RW just can't wrap their heads around the fact that NOT everybody has to work or work full time. We've been round and round this discussion. Do we have to write this on a bat and beat them on their little pointy, tin-foil heads?? JUDAS!
Thanks from Camelot

You are completely delusional. Most of the robotics are made over seas. But even if they aren't, ONE robot can replace as many as 10 people. The number of people required to build the robot does not offset the number of jobs EACH of those robots will replace.

I won't say who, when or where but this is what I witnessed up close and personal.

Company X, working with their union, instituted a pay plan and quota system. Once the employee met his or her personal daily quota they could go home with 8 hours pay. Most got to go home 30 minutes to an hour early. One or two got to leave after 6 1/2 hour or so.

With this program came a promise from the the parent company that they would upgrade the plant over the next several years. As the plant was upgraded the quotas were supposed to go UP. 5 years later the upgrades have enabled many workers to meet their quotas in 5 to 6 hours. Some as little as 4 1/2.

When it came time to renegotiate the contract the company insisted on raising the quotas per the union's prior agreement. The union balked and tried to call a strike. The company pulled the machines and moved them to another site.

I was in that plant a few years later. Prior to the strike there were more than a thousand employees there. Refitted to make something different, and far more complicated, it now had less than maybe 100 employees as the entire process was automated. The only people in the plant were the guys that kept the machines running, and the people who opened the boxes from suppliers and put the parts into the machine.

If you think automaton is going to CREATE jobs, you're completely delusional. If you think tax cuts and cash repatriation are going to create jobs, you're more than delusional.

Yes and if they repatriate it in the US..

the mantainance employees for that automation will be US CITIZENS not European or Chinese citizens

The PEOPE WILL BE INSTALLING THE AUTOMATION INTO US Factories. NOT CHINESE AND EUROPEAN FACTORIES.

truckers will be working Construction workers will be working in the US not in ASIA AND EUROPE.

NO ONE IS MORE BLIND than those that REFUSE to see.
