On Meet the Press just now, the host

said there are "30 witnesses" to the acts of Roy Moore. 30???? who are they and if they "witnessed" his act with the 14 year old, why didn't even one speak up??

I don't know any more than you know if and what happened 38 years ago. I find it far from helpful for people to put such words as "witness" out to the public as a fact....These 30 people witnessed ...what? Such statements do not help in determining any facts about what may or may not have happened.

Just hearsay. No witnesses. If their were witnesses this whole thing would be over.

We will probably never know the real truth about any of it. I guess I am weary of all this kind of politics and how some statement is blown up to be a huge thing. Like...the woman who said she was 18 and on a dinner date with Moore he ordered wine...the drinking age was 19. So what? How many can say they never would have had a drink with someone 18 or at 18 would have been outraged to have a drink ordered for them/while with them???

It was Senator Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota, who made the statement about 30 witnesses on Meet the Press. I could not find anything else on Google about that number. I read the text from Meet the Press and there were several interesting statements, other than Klobuchar's.
Examples: California, more than 150 women launched a campaign called We Said Enough, detailing, quote, "Dehumanizing behavior by men with power." In Florida, that state's budget chairman was accused by six women of inappropriate touching. In Illinois, hundreds of women charged that there is a pervasive, predatory culture in the state capital. Minnesota, a state representative said a toxic work environment protects lawmakers, not victims. In Massachusetts, there's been claims of a climate of harassment. And those are just a few of the 14 different state and local governments where this issue of harassment is alleged to have occurred, and it's coming out now.
Washington--The U.S. Senate, by the way, on Thursday unanimously passed a bill instituting mandatory sexual harassment training for Senators and their aides.

THE "ME TOO" movement is building steam.

PLEASE STOP saying "SO WHAT?" That's what predators have been saying for DECADES. WHEN men ply their young women with alcohol there's usually a reason and I think we all know WHAT that reason is. If you don't, you're part of the problem.
Thanks from Camelot

Thanks Clara.

Up until 5 or 6 six years I didn't realize women, nice looking women anyway, were under constant sexual pressure when out in public.

My wife, a nice looking women, told me this. I didn't believe her. Then I began asking my women friends if this was true. To a person, they agreed with her.
Thanks from Clara007

Women and men quite often perceive things differently.
What a woman defines as "constant sexual pressure' can be vastly different from a man's definition. A woman is not automatically correct just because she's a woman.
It's true they may FEEL that way, but that's all. IMHO of course.
Thanks from caconservative and justoneman

Yes I think this is true and I think perceptions are different about many things between men and woman. For example. Years ago I was at work and walking through the shop area of my workplace towards the office area with a female coworker. she had given notice and it was her last day. As we walked together she reached over and grabbed my butt. She took a good long hold and looked at me smiled and said nothing.

Now when I tell this story to everybody man and woman they all have the same reaction. Can you tell me what your reaction is here?

Typically, the perpetrator has a different take on a situation than a victim.

Most of the women I questioned had one or more experiences in which they spotted men staring at them and masturbating when they were at the beach, or in the park, or somewhere they'd be in a swimsuit. My wife initially told me of several "encounters" she'd had and she maintained it was a common experience. I didn't believe her. I said, "Well, maybe in Ukraine....."

On top of that, women in general are smaller and weaker than men. They're constantly surrounded by people bigger, stronger, louder, and oftentimes more prone to violence than they are.

Imo, things are tougher for women now than when we were young.
