The GOP bill was voted DOWN--NOT PASSED--isn't going forward anytime soon. If you want to talk about numbers, ACA, repealing, replacing, then how about discussing what the GOP wants to do NOW---SIX months later??

Just a thought.

But moving on. Maybe you want to discuss the GOP crusade against the individual mandate and how they slipped it into a tax bill??
Would it surprise you to know that the mandate was a conservative idea originally?? Then along came a governor named Mitt Romney (R) and encouraged the state of Massachusetts to try it....and they did...and it worked.
BUT....when Obama said "HEY! Let's do it." Suddenly it was a bad idea and has been ever since? Why?

The GOP is putting their tax bill in jeopardy by removing the mandate, a move that would mean fewer people with insurance, higher premiums for those who hold onto coverage and less stable insurance markets generally. Apparently, that outcome is ok with the vast majority of Republicans and their allies. That’s quite a statement about the party’s priorities and their hypocrisy.
That is what I am saying they "MAY" choose not to buy it.

Dim-O-Rats are telling the people that up to 23,000,000 WILL LOSE IT.

they are LOSING NOTHING

the Subsides are not going away, only the tax they will pay if they decide to
NOT Purchase the insurance.

in other words. that would mean 23,000,000 people use Obamacare because they are FORCED to do so.

Just my long, long wordy two cents: My father in law had this saying: "turn about is fair play". I didn't like it when he said it or acted on it because a good man was otherwise embarrassingly belittling himself in the eyes of his family, friends and associates with passive aggressive words or petty actions that made him look small, when in actuality, all i ever observed from him was all things positive in reality. The heat of political discussions often brings out the helplessness in us all. Thus all the jabs and the need to prove our individual moral superiority against our friends whom we think are our enemies is all pretty pointless.
If a person is right, then they don't need too worry about proving some one else wrong. Time will back up the facts for todays opinions.

Now I'm not saying you're being passive aggressive, small or petty. I am saying that you and most of the rest of us here (with some exceptions) are good people with strong convictions, good intentions and a shit ton of opinions who get carried away with our own polemic hyperbole. (That was my first impression on coming here and the reason i took very little of what was said so seriously.) I mean, i ask myself this daily when i visit this site, do we actually mean most of the shit we saying?
Dear God! I hope not!

Is anyone turned down for lack of money? Of those turning down insurance, how many don't need it? The ACA is proving to be a massive failure. Unbelievably high premiums, and deductibles so high you are in effect, insuring yourself.

Turned down for insurance? Hell yes. All the time. Don’t pay the premium your insurance is cancelled. You think someone can call the insurance company and say, “I know my premiums are $650 per month but all I can afford this month is $250. Will you still cover me?”

Unless you are worth millions, EVERYONE should have health insurance! Being a 21 year old Olympic Athlete doesn’t stop you from getting hit by a bus or from getting cancer.
