Ye gads !!! Let's hope that trend doesn't continue into the summer. Wet weather in the Sahara spools up more frequent and larger hurricanes that hit the US.

15 inches? Pfffft, that's nothing.
Climate

Summers are mainly hot and dry, while winters are cool to cold. Despite being in the hot Sahara desert, it snowed in 1979 and in the winter of 2016/2017. The municipality was sprinkled with some snow in December 2016, which was the first time that snow had fallen there since February 18, 1979, when a half-hour storm disrupted traffic. A freak winter storm hit the area on January 20, 2017 dumping snow in the municipality up to a metre thick in some places. This was the largest snowfall in residents' memories and had caused travel disruptions due to the roads becoming slippery with ice, while the resident children made the most of the situation by sledding on the snow-covered sand dunes and making snowmen.

Climate change means increasingly more extreme weather, as we are seeing.

That is why they had to change the term to "climate change" as global warming/cooling no longer fit the narrative.

They are so transparent.

Both terms continue to be used, but more than likely the term "climate change" has become preferable because the science deniers were too dim-witted to understand that cold weather does NOT disprove global warming.
Just ask Prez Tweety.

"In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!"

You are so transparent.

Climatology, like all science, is evolving and self-correcting. The reality of the state of the atmosphere, its increased heat-retentive characteristic, means hotter some places, colder others, more precipitation, less precipitation, and more violent storms among other forms of weather, is happening.

But, the real time bomb is the earth's vast reservoirs of trapped methane.

Until this year, hurricane activity was at a 45 year low and steadily decreasing.

So much for MMGW causing more violent forms of weather.

IMO the use of the term science and the cult following it has gained to include hypothetical models is a serious problem.

From this starting point then the meme of "science deniers" has been created to further retard the conversation.

Climate change (or whatever we want to call it) is a constantly changing theory being spoon fed to the public for political gains.

That being said i choose to take the Pascal wager approach to it though i do not like all of the fear mongering that comes along w/ the current approach.

The science is not settled

No...NO. The science IS settled............they just have to keep "correcting" it and coming up with new names when the current name doesn't describe what is actually happening.

That's why they finally got around to claiming MMGW is causing any weather event anywhere.......hot, cold..............wet, drought............no hurricanes, many hurricanes..........

Every time I see this "criticism" ...
a constantly changing theory
I wonder, should we disregard Copernicus because he challenged the theories of his day which placed the earth at the center of the universe?

"It's in the genetics" has meant irreversibility, yet now research has shown that lifestyles can alter genes. Shall we throw out genetics?

Think of the freaking computer you had 20 years ago compared to the one you have now.

The "a constantly changing theory" criticism reveals an empty hand, and perhaps an empty mind on the subject of climate change.

Just for grins, address the subject of methane thresholds.
