White House refuses to release photo of Trump gun law repeal

Quote:
The White House has refused to release a photo of President Donald Trump signing a law making it easier for some people with mental illness to buy guns.

Despite repeated requests from CBS News, the White House press office has issued only a one-line response.

Mr Trump last year repealed an Obama-era rule allowing the names of certain people on mental health benefits to be entered into a criminal database.

The controversy follows a shooting by a suspect who had mental health issues.
He has also cut funding for mental health services and school safety.

But I'm sure he's high up on the thoughts and prayers giving.

I'm curious about whether or not you're British, but you don't have to answer.

That story has been eating at me since he signed it last year. Not trying to hijack your thread, but this is the one I want those kids in Florida to see RNG.

Looks like a pack of hyenas around a kill on the Serengeti.

Maybe you should take the time to find out exactly what Trump signed. Instead of panting over some photo that tells us nothing.

Let me help you out with that.

It's the same one RNG showed you just widened out a bit.

I just wanted the kids to know which Senators were there, so they know who to vote against in the elections.
Thanks from imaginethat, RNG and Hollywood

Have you taken the time to investigate the reasons why Congress and the president felt it necessary to pass Public Law 115–8? Or is this about finding a photo to be used as spin? I read your cbs-news article. Can you point out to me the reasons why this bill was passed in that article? Plainly, the Liberals want a photo...not facts...to promote a photo that is visually negative in another predictable attack on the president. It's really becoming tiresome and boring.
Thanks from Sabcat and Jimgorn

The GOP and President Trump felt it was very unfair to the mentally ill to deny them their second amendment rights....because of the cash the NRA lavished on their campaigns.
So it's all good, they did it for the money, not to kill the kids, it was just for the money....

Yeah, because allowing a person to have due process BEFORE being punished is such bullshit anyway.

Who's talking about removing their due process ?? I'm certainly not. The process should be neither simple nor permanent. We already have a process for judging if an adult is mentally incompetent. It requires doctors and court hearings to determine if someone is in need of third party supervision. The person in question retains the right to have their case revisited if they feel like they have gotten better.

This wouldn't be as simple as your soon to be ex wife calling the police and falsely accusing you of making statements that you were gong to hurt yourself or someone else and having them show up and take your guns. Some college guidance counselor couldn't simply label a student as dangerous. Even your own doctor can't single handedly strip your rights. It should require at least two doctors and multiple interviews alone with interviews of family and friend.

Unfortunately none of that you said was the case. It required a bureaucrat to review information, make a decision, without informing the person in question. Then, after that person was restricted, said person could request a review. Thats called being found guilty without due process.
Thanks from Jimmyb
