It is as if there is some sort of chaos being injected into the political scene from a unknown force.

The National Rifle Association is suing the state of Florida after Gov. Rick Scott signed Senate Bill 7026 into law Friday, the first gun control legislation enacted in the state after the Parkland school massacre on February 14.

"This bill punishes law-abiding gun owners for the criminal acts of a deranged individual," executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action Chris W. Cox said. "Securing our schools and protecting the constitutional rights of Americans are not mutually exclusive."
Seventeen people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School when a 19-year-old man with a semi-automatic military-style rifle opened fire.
The new Florida law raises the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21 from 18, bans the sale or possession of bump fire stocks, gives law enforcement greater power to seize weapons and ammunition from those deemed mentally unfit and provides additional funding for armed school resource officers.

In other news.....Florida Rep. Elizabeth Porter turned heads when she compared children calling for gun control to children calling for 'no homework,' during a speech about gun reform on the statehouse floor.

Ms. Porter claims that THEY (Florida lawmakers) have the wisdom and experience to make these decisions. HEY LIZZY! That's debatable.

Once again LWNCs post 1/2 Truths. the NRA is only challenging 1 clause of the law

18 year olds are adults by law.. thus to prevent them from purchasing firearms is a violation of their Civil Rights, (Remember the Right to bear arms is the 2nd civil right Granted by our Constitution)

If 18 year olds cannot have a rifle. what are we going to arm pluratliy of our Military with Squirt guns.

Gee, I wonder what the parents of mrdered children are driven by? The thing about kids is that they are products of their environment and they learn way faster than you do...Bet if I put a gun to your child’s head you’d change your tune or is your child an acceptable casualty?

My Child is alive because she had access to my Semi-automatic pistol.

If not for the M-1911 she very well could have been a casualty.

How lucky for her...No matter how you put it more guns will not equal less death.

Really.. Then explain why During the (Brady Bill) and the (Clinton Assault Weapons Ban) the Murder rate was ~10/100,000

today, There are 15,000,000 people that have been licensed to carry Firearms on their Persons, (this does not include those that have excersised their Open Carry Rights) the murder Rate is the lowest(4/100,000) since 1870-1900 (when ALMOST EVERYONE carried) Murder rate during that period was ~2/100,000

Why do you think shooters choose GUN FREE zones, they are CRAZY not STUIPID.

Note the homicide rates and the level of Gun Control laws at the time.

Thanks from Neil

I'd like to point out that federal law already prohibits the sale of handguns to those under 21. Of course the law only applies to LICENSED gun dealers. It still has more holes than my pasta strainer.

Those dang age restrictions: 16 yrs old to drive. 21 yrs old to drink. Golly--what's a guy to do?? 18 yrs old to have sex--in some states? 21 yrs old to gamble--in Vegas--if liquor is served on the floor?

Military?? Do the military boys OWN the guns they receive in military training? Do they have to purchase them? I believe the new FL law refers to purchasing a gun. Is that correct?

Uh oh, watch out - you're using logic & logic can clash with people who respond by being driven by their emotions.
