Ryan To Not Seek Re-Election - Spineless

It is being reported that Paul “spineless” Ryan is leaving. Good riddance. He never had the spine to stand up to Don the Con. The speakership will be in Dems hands next January and he knows it.

He is definitely gone. Who will replace Ryan as the newest House Speaker? This better not be the return of Newt Gingrich.

Ryan’s last act as speaker in January will be to hand over the gavel to Nancy Pelosi and then let the investigations begin.

Excellent tweet. Boehner just announced that he has joined one of the biggest pot producing companies in the country because he claims “in due of the opioid epidemic, my position on marijuana has evolved”. See what Republicans do to their Speakers ? LOL

Paul Ryan is retiring and John Boehner is selling pot. Big day for unexpected, but not wholly surprising, news from GOP House Speakers

YEP! The GOP exodus continues because obviously they can't stomach the Trump regime--the lies, the cover-ups, and the toxic world of D.C.

Quote:
Ryan’s departure has been fodder for congressional chatter for months, ever since Politico’s Tim Alberta reported that in interviews with “three dozen people who know the speaker — fellow lawmakers, congressional and administration aides, conservative intellectuals and Republican lobbyists — not a single person believed Ryan will stay in Congress past 2018.” Until now, Ryan and his office had denied all reports.
Underlying the chatter among Republicans is an understanding that the speakership has always been a thankless job, and has become all the more fraught under the Trump presidency. When Ryan took over the post, his ascendency was meant to usher in a new era in GOP politics, unified behind Obamacare repeal, tax cuts, and dismantling the welfare state. Instead, Ryan has placated a president who has no interest in his agenda, and who in many cases — like on immigration, trade, and entitlement reform — breaks with the party altogether.

Ryan’s conservatism is no longer seen as a uniting force in a fractured Republican House. Instead, Ryan has become an avatar for the Republican civil war. These tensions explain why he wants out.
Vox

Wisconsin Democrats will be elated with this news. Ryan has been derided as a hypocrite in many areas, and yes, Cammie, Ryan has always been spineless. He should NEVER have agreed to take House Leader.
Is this another "win" for Trump? It depends who takes Ryan's position as top dog. Kevin McCarthy? Steve Scalise will get the sympathy vote, but Pelosi is certainly going to vie for the position.

Ryan will stay in his post until January. No need for McCarthy or Scalise. Nancy Pelosi will be sworn in as the next Speaker.
