We do know this, when Trump "took out an airbase", it was back in full operation in 24 hours.
The thought just came to me that after last year's strike the military released pics and we could see just how little damage was done.

No pics this year. I wonder why.

Days after reports of a chemical-weapons attack surfaced on April 7, Defense Secretary James Mattis admitted that the Pentagon was “still assessing” the claims. They still didn’t even know what chemicals, if any, were actually used.

The fact is that the United States is already at war in Syria, and has been since August 2014. There are at least 2,000 US troops already on the ground, and the United States, working with its Syrian Kurdish militia partner, has been conducting air and drone attacks against ISIS on an almost daily basis. That war has already killed plenty of Syrian civilians.

Trump is now in the same spot as Obama: To be or NOT to be involved in Syria. How does he like it now?

So liberals and trump bashers , what’s your alternative response to Assad’s chemical attacks on civilian populations?

The first step would be to establish beyond any doubt that Assad used chemical weapons on Syrians, or anyone else.

Sorry conservatives and Trump lovers, but that hasn't been done.

So now, a "good attack" is measured by how many people weren't killed?

The attack involved missiles. Other than Syrians, no one's life was at risk.

Ok, now I'm just talking common sense here. The attack took place at 4:00am local Syrian time, few people around. Now, in the case of weapons storage facility I can understand that. You want to destroy the materials and the physical facility, not much value in killing fork truck drivers & laborers. They are easy enough to replace.
However, a research facility was also struck i believe. Why wouldn't you want to hit that when it was most full of people, say around 10:00 am on a busy work day? After all, it's the loss of the researchers, the scientists that would hurt the chemical weapons programs, not just equipment & buildings. You would want to kill as many of those people as you possibly could.

Yep, that's the way war used to be fought, before the concept of kinder and gentler war took root.

Now, with war a huge part of the economy, defeating the enemy isn't the objective. Beating him down from time to time is. "Enemies" who can't fight back anyway....
