All that proves is two things. That advertising makes good things happen. Only it's just for the benefit of the advertizer and their ad agencies. And that people will believe bullshit from "media types" over hard data from scientist.

But anyone looking at just about any part of modern society, from politics to global warming to renewable energy would realize these things.

I assume you meant Bayer.
Thanks from Athena

Eliminate or "regulate" with a sense of morality and knowledge of how things work? I think it is terrible for people to die or loose a leg or their vision because they can not afford their medication. I also think it is terrible for drug companies to charge far more for a drug than the cost, and universal insurance will not resolve this problem but contributes to it. As banks need to be regulated so does the medical system need to be regulated, because humans survive best when they work together for their mutual survival, and if this was not true there would be no laws defining crimes and labeling people as criminal.

When money is the bottom line instead of human values, a nation's ideas of criminality is very interesting.

Drug companies employ people to do the research and these are not the people so nicely rewarded for their "intellectual property". I am not understanding why something as important to all of us as medical care is not an adequately funded government-run concern, like sending Apollo to the moon or sending million dollar bombs to bomb people overseas?

Something terrible has happened in the US. We have become far too materialistic and far too mechanical, cynical and paranoid, and have decreased our morality to a dangerous level. Our morale has been destroyed and that becomes as a very destructive problem. Now, who might we consider the criminals?

Yes I ment Bayer. No. Do you ever see advertising for those products? The were the 1st to go to market successfully gaining public trust and name recognition. There is definitely something to be said for that. When it comes to pharmaceutical it is a closed market. None of that matters. The FDA and big pharma work in tandem to create a market for their products and extract wealth from the public for the privilege to use it. It is a scam hidden under the guise of public good. Probably one of if not the biggest scam in the states.

Predicted

https://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/24/obam...costs-aei.html

PREDICTION COMES TRUE

From the TEA Party with love WE TOLD YOU SO.
Drug prices have EXPLODED because the DRUG COMPANIES WANTED THEM TO DO SO. Do I need to mention Martin Shkreli ?? Who bought rights to a drug that for decades sold for less than $15 a pill and raised it's price to $750 a pill, JUST BECAUSE HE COULD. Even though he's gone to prison for other crimes, THAT MEDACIDE IS STILL $750 A DOSE.

For years the Pfizer website claimed that THERE WAS NO GENERIC VIAGRA and that buying the FAKE generics online was actually dangerous.

Flash forward a few years and their website no longer makes that claim. WHY ??? Because they SUED drug makers in Canada trying to stop the sale of LEGITIMATE generic Viagra. THEY LOST THE LAW SUIT. Here in the states, where they hold the patent, Viagra retails for more than $30 per pill. I order it out of Canada who has a LEGITIMATE generic alternative for less than $2 a pill.

Bottom line, WE the citizen of the United States are being held hostage by big Pharma !!!

Trump threatening other countries IS NOT GOING TO HELP US ONE DAMNED BIT.

When congress changes the law and lets the US government NEGOTIATE drug prices THEN we'll get some relief.
Thanks from Camelot, Athena and Clara007

But it will help, Bubba. When the Republican President's bullying tactics work because of the US' dominant trade position in the west and forces other countries to swallow your ludicrous drug prices, you guys won't have quite as much to feel sorry for yourselves about.
