Exclamation Melania Trump Undergoes Surgery

Let's hope it's nothing low level Trump communications staffers can make ignorant comments about...

Quote:
(CNN)First lady Melania Trump underwent kidney surgery Monday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, DC, according to a statement from her office.

Trump had been experiencing an issue with her kidney that her office described as benign but requiring medical attention.
"This morning, first lady Melania Trump underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition. The procedure was successful, and there were no complications," the first lady's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement.
"Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week. The first lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere," Grisham wrote.

Yeah, I wonder how some homeless vet on skid row would make out if he had the same condition.
Thanks from Hollywood

Yes.

When I was a child, I was on that same type of "government health care" program; that's because my father was in the military (i.e., he was on the military payroll) & I along with my mother and siblings were dependents, and as a result of being dependents we had access to that program. It's analogous to health insurance compensation provided by employers to employees and members of their families, except instead of a health insurance plan/group/network/whatever number given to healthcare providers, the facilities (hospitals, clinics, etc.) were directly operated by the government (it or part of it is, or was, called PRIMUS), and the "employer" happened to be the federal government (specifically the military/DoD).

I had a military dependent ID card for that & with it I also had access to the PX, commissary, 7 day stores (convenience stores somewhat similar to a 7-Eleven store), and other perks only available to military service members and their families (who qualified as dependents).

I hope you're not confusing a program that's analogous to an employer funded health insurance for employees and members of their families (essentially what it is) with socialized medicine, which is a centralized command/control/planning of the healthcare system for all its citizen sort of system.

For Melania Trump, it's analogous to healthcare services provided by her husband's "employer" to her as a "dependent" (in a payroll type of context & what not).

I don't. It depends on whether this hypothetical veteran with the same condition qualifies for having access to the same Walter Reed Medical Center program/facility; it's analogous to employees who work for private companies that provide them with health insurance; if they quit their jobs, that same health insurance program becomes unavailable to that employee depending on the policy, expiration, or whatever the COBRA system does or provides for that former employee.

If we suppose that your hypothetical veteran still did qualify for having access to the same program/facility, chances are this veteran would make out the same.

I see that Melania's popularity has skyrocketed with voters. First lady Melania Trump has in recent weeks experienced a significant surge in support, a new CNN poll reveals, including among women and Democrats.

In a poll conducted by SSRS last week, 57% say they have a favorable impression of Trump, up from 47% in January. This is the biggest number Melania Trump has experienced in any CNN polling, and higher than any favorability rating earned by President Donald Trump in CNN polling history going back to 1999.
Twenty-seven percent of respondents have an unfavorable view of the first lady.

Good for Melania. I hope this health scare is nothing serious.
Thanks from Lyzza
