Imaginethat has had to deal with NO administrative SUPPORT--by himself--and now the hacking--every day--all week.

So come on! We have our differences but we want DTT to be a better site WITHOUT all the SPAM. IT needs our support and needs control of the board to make necessary changes.

Click CONTACT US NOW and send your message! Ready. Get set.

SPAM!!
May as well give it a shot! Up till now, I wasn't even sure if "Chip" was a real person, or just the name assigned to the form letter that welcomes new members.
Thanks from Clara007

Was that the reason Chip bought it in the first place?

Allow me, for I am a forum traveler........

Chip was a history buff and was a member of Historum when he bought that site from the previous owner. DDT is a hosted site at Historum and is used to steer political talk away from Historum. DDT came with the package.

Chip's crown jewel is Historum which is a really tightly moderated forum where many, if not most of the membership here would have been permabanned within a week.

There was actually a thread about which members at Historum had visited DTT. Apparently there is resounding and universal disgust for this site over there. Besides for myself, I have counted only two other Historumites that are registered and participating members, from the time of my lurking before I joined until now.

It is my conclusion that DDT is very low priority due to membership count and content.

You may want to see my post in the thread "Oh Shit" in Current Events, where I shared some more observations and experiences about what I know.

Actually, due to the fact that Historum is a more visible site than DTT it suffers from far more of these attacks than DTT.
I'm afraid that these type of Spam attacks are fairly common on all forums these days and there is little the owner can do except increase the number of moderators and hope that they remove the spam accounts as quickly as possible.

The attacks are constant. This is more than a disgruntled poster.

Michael, few if any of the "posters" responsible for spamming would make it through a two-step enrollment process.

Well in that case, let's suppose the moderator of this forum (i.e., IT), who cannot get the necessary help to properly maintain this forum, decides "screw it, I'm not going to waste any more of my precious time plugging up all the leaks that are sprouting up all over this forum", and as a result this forum goes to shit. Based on your own premise that the purpose of this forum is to steer away political talk from another forum, such a "filter" then becomes broken and the other forum will start getting bogged down with the undesired political talk there. That would get their attention and it will get them to check the "filter" to see what happened to it; that would make the problem on this forum a high priority.

The moderators over there would shut you down in minutes.
