Trump torpedoes G7 effort to ease trade spat, threatens auto tariffs

And this sorry excuse for a president, who alienates allies and cozies up to murderous dictators.

Quote:
Trump torpedoes G7 effort to ease trade spat, threatens auto tariffs

LA MALBAIE, Quebec (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday threw the G7’s efforts to show a united front into disarray after he became angry with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and said he might double down on import tariffs by hitting the sensitive auto industry.

Trump’s bombshell announcement that he was backing out of the Group of Seven communique, made after he left the summit in Canada early, torpedoed what appeared to be a fragile consensus on the trade dispute between Washington and its top allies.

“PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, ‘US Tariffs were kind of insulting’ and he ‘will not be pushed around.’ Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!” the U.S. president tweeted.

In his press conference, Trudeau had spoken of retaliatory measures that Canada would take next month in response to Trump’s decision to slap tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

“Canadians, we’re polite, we’re reasonable but we also will not be pushed around,” Trudeau, the host of the two-day summit in La Malbaie, Quebec, told reporters.

So he's complaining about Canada's tariffs while US law RESTRICTS dairy imports to just 3% of US production. And the US OVER PRODUCES to the point that SUBSIDIES make up 3/4 of their income. Even with subsides most US dairies are hard pressed to break even.

You know, it looked like maybe things would settle down, but then I think the pressure and the true magnitude of what is coming down the pike with the Lil Kimmy meeting and all got the Republican President all tensed up so what does he do? What he always does. Tweets shit.

I'm just glad we have tomorrow for things to settle down before the markets open.

When did it seem to you things maybe would settle down?

This meeting with Kim, this is a deal made with the devil, and it could turn ugly, sorta like things got ugly with longtime Western allies. The way things are going with DJT, if things don't go ugly or not even too cool, that's suspicious imo.

He's in a no-win situation of his own making.

While he was face-to-face with the other leaders he made nice. And as he was leaving he told reporters that they were all good buddies now.

Trump is playing both ends at the same time. Betting on stocks he know will go up, and shorting on the ones he know will lose on any given day, while taking foreign money to enrich himself and his family in the most blatant way possible.
Thanks from Hollywood

This creep is nothing but a petulant child. He cares nothing for the American people. It’s all about his ego. If foreign leaders don’t stroke his ego, Don the Con has a tantrum. This is not only embarrassing this country, it will end up costing American workers dearly. He needs to be impeached before it is too late.
Thanks from tristanrobin and Hollywood
