In the opinion of whom?

That's not what ANY legal publication claims. Or any lawyer. Or any person with any knowledge of Thomas's career. Or anyone with a fully functional brain, generally.

The Democrats in Congress and the mainstream media were all denouncing the Trump nominee before they even knew who it would be. Obviously they were going to complain and campaign against whom ever it was. Kavanaugh gave a wonderful speech. Now the Dems will attempt to slander him. I believe Democrats will end up looking terrible as a result. The Judge is a truly honorable man and the mud slinging is going to hurt those doing the slinging.

The Democrats shot their wad a bit early on this one. Already announcing their outrage at the nominee before even knowing whom the nominee would be.

What was wrong with Merrick Garland???

Quote:
"Of course," said McConnell, "the American people should have a say in the court's direction. It is a president's constitutional right to nominate a Supreme Court justice, and it is the Senate's constitutional right to act as a check on the president and withhold its consent."

Snip

In a speech that August in Kentucky, McConnell would say: "One of my proudest moments was when I looked Barack Obama in the eye and I said, 'Mr. President, you will not fill the Supreme Court vacancy.' "

The republicans did not launch a smear campaign against him.. they were in majority and did not pass him. If the dems were in majority right now and it was a few months before the end of Trumps second term, they would block Trump's nominee.

They didn't even allow a confirmation hearing. They didn't need a smear campaign, but boy they would of had one.

No that was the first time there was no confirmation hearing held of a nominated supreme court justice.

My verdict: REJECT HIM

Apparently this guy doesn't comprehend the 4th Amendment. This also reflects negatively on The Donald for nominating this guy.

There goes Collins and Murkowski.

Wait until he gets pressed on whether or not the President can pardon himself or be indicted.

If I'm on the Senate hearing, my first question would be point blank.

Is the President Above The Law?

Strange you should ask that question, Skews, because I was just reading this:
