Colorado and Washington are two of my favorite states, but I really don't think drugs solves anything.
Who says drugs solve anything? That's really not the issue. And we're not talking "drugs" here. We're talking a plant.

You may like Washington and Colorado because their citizens have begun the lifting of the insanity of making a plant illegal.

I'm proud of the citizens of my state going boldly where no one has gone before.

And once again, Ron Paul nails it.

I agree with your points about Washington and Colorado and also agree with Ron Paul in this and the idea of making the "plant" legal, but your topic said "drugs" and that term is broader and includes very harmful substances.

I am also not convinced that smoking pot is not harmful, though I agree it is less harmful than cigarettes and does not need to be illegal, only illegal to have it interfere with non-smokers right not to smell and inhale it, and so it should not be allowed in public places.

Anyway, I was not really making a serious point though. I was trying to be funny and using the last statement as an irony, for not much solves anything these days

As much as I generally agree with both your, Ron Paul's and the people of Washington & Colorado's line of thinking I very much feel that there are far bigger fish to try out there, and I suppose that is why I did not take the topic as serious as I probably should. Sorry about that.
Thanks from love4truth

Oh heck, I need to lighten up.

The BIG issues here are constitutionality and states' rights. I think it's ironical that cannabis legalization has become a line in the sand to oppose unconstitutional federal power, but, like, dude, it has.

Anyway, I hardly indulge, but it is a joy to have a toke and play some guitar and sing and sing ... and dance while singing.

Yeah, I don't need it to play and sing and dance, I don't need chocolate ice cream either, but I sure do like it.

I recall you reminding me to lighten up about half a year ago I think, we could all probably use that reminder on occation, though it is good to take things serious too when there is opportunity for actual change.

I agree that it is ironic that cannabis legalization has become a line in the sand to oppose unconstitutional federal power, i think its ironic it is such a big issue period.

I too love to sing and dance, and just ate a chocolate bar today
I have nothing against anyone occationally using cannabis as long as it does not interfere with other peoples rights, and is not promoted with lies.

I have never taken cannabis so I guess I don't know what I am missing

By the way I like your new profile picture.

Yes Lucy in the SKY with Diamonds was definately not about LSD, nor was "a day in the life", "Doctor Robert" "Happiness is a Warm Gun" "I'm Only Sleeping" "Tomorrow Never Knows" or "Octopusses Garden"

I don't believe Lennon saying that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds isn't about LSD. I mean....

Quote:
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.

Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.

Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle,
The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Ahh...
Sure, John. Just the most psychedelic lyrics you ever wrote, and LSD can be logically deduced from the title, but it's not about LSD.

Sure.

Yes I am not convinced

I think John was trying to be a little too politically correct since he already got so much heat for saying he was bigger than Christ.

I think a lot of the Beatles songs are about drugs, especially the Lennon songs.

we need to end the war on drugs. whatever a person consumes is their problem no one elses. if you want to twist one up, snort, shoot up go ahead but do it behind closed doors where its no one's business. war on drugs has killed too many people because of a fix.

He did say his son, Julian, brought home a crayon drawing of his kindy teacher, Lucy, who (in his picture) was in the sky with diamonds.
