You're not going to win the weed war fighting it on the bigots terms.

Terms that have been so successful for the last 90 years, that the discussion has been framed in safety issues ( i.e. insolent blacks are smoking it and looking at white men in the eyes ), and actually has black evangelicals in the church that have adopted the bigots terms, against the best interests of their own community.

White Colonialism at it's finest.
Lotsa truth there. It was the topic of my junior adolescent psych class presentation to about 200, back in 1970 when being a hippie was similar to being a nigger. I remember my black friends saying that we can't help being black but you can. Why do you choose to be "black?"

My prof had a long talk with me as the ideas you mentioned and I'd delivered about psychedelic drugs generally. I'd claimed, flatly, that these drugs scare the hell out of the ruling authorities. And, that these drugs sorta ripped the veil off of any number of nefarious schemes imposed upon the peoples of all nations.

So, in all nations they were illegal with truly heinous penalties. In the US, cannabis, a Schedule 1 drug. Federally it remains Sch 1 today: No known medical use. Bullshit.

So yeah, like you said, marijuana laws aren't based on safety issues; they are based upon white men hating minorities, but look what you did. The term "marijuana" is a product of white men hating minorities, Hispanics in this case. "Pot," straight men hating hippies.

It's cannabis, or maybe cheeba-cheeba.
Thanks from Lyzza

They were under the influence.

April, 2014: Researchers writing in the Journal of the American Heart Association investigated marijuana’s effects on cardiovascular health. They reviewed 1,979 incidents from 2006 to 2011, and found, “there were 22 cardiac complications (20 acute coronary syndromes), 10 peripheral complications (lower limb or juvenile arteriopathies and Buerger‐like diseases), and 3 cerebral complications (acute cerebral angiopathy, transient cortical blindness, and spasm of cerebral artery). In 9 cases, the event led to patient death.”

Drawlin ass people who have never seen let alone smoked weed in their lives commenting about its use ctfu.

There's literally nothing wrong about smoking weed. Honestly like I'll probably get more fucked up by a high school drinking habit or just eating fucking McDonalds than that. That said I don't think I'll remember high school too well.
Thanks from imaginethat and Franklin

Yeah, just more fascists trying to tell us how to live and what we can/can't put in our own bodies.

Smoking weed is so much better than cigarettes, alcohol, and even drinking the damn water!

Used in context. All state and federal laws use the word marijuana. The actual horticultural classification of the plant is cannabis sativa linne, which is also a misnomer, because there are many classifications for all plant life of the same genus.

But I digress. The plant was made illegal at the behest of a new government law enforcement agency in the 1920's, from the support of of two major corporations, E. I. Dupont Nemours, that had recently patented synthetic fibres, and Hearst Papers, owned by William Randolph Hearst, that owned major timber interests. Both of which were threatened by the hemp industry, and used the Jim Crow racism of they day against blacks, and Hispanics to successfully lobby Congress to make the plant illegal.

Any discourse being used to reverse this obscenity, has to be done by pointing to those facts. Not using discourse that cannabis is safer than other substances, for whatever reasons.

I to would like to see cannabis re-legalized, but I have my own selfish reasons. It is more important to me that E. I. Dupont Nemours, William Randolph Hearst, J. Edgar Hoover, Harry F. Anslinger, the FBI, and DEA, are totally humiliated and eviscerated as part of it.

There is no amount of hurt that can be visited on these entities that is satisfying enough for me. I want blood, and just re- legalizing cannabis isn't good enough.

Hope that cleared up my position on the subject.
