Only smoke pot and drink beer at home and never drive when under the influence of either. Common sense that will save you a lot of money.

As an obese marijuana user, the first point is total BS. Marijuana is famous for making people more hungry, ever heard of "the munchies"? Not only that, people tend to eat "junk food", high calorie, high fat, salty foods. Personally, I think marijuana would be a godsend to people who are sick with cancer or other diseases where they have poor appetite to want to eat, and as a therapeutic drug for people with anorexia.

Smoking pot is very bad for your lungs and lung function. Personally, I rarely (I do but rarely) smoke marijuana. I take a gram or so and melt it in butter and then mix it with a starch (like mashed potatoes or rice). Get baked for six hours or more. Smoked a joint after buying a bag in a hotel room and I was coughing until I "adapted". Coughing is the body's way of telling you "This stuff you are inhaling is poison!" The good news for non tobacco users is that people inhale a lot less smoke, smoking weed. Sometimes, I read or hear about the anti-pot people say that "marijuana is much stronger now than in the 1970's". Well, that is a good thing, because you are inhaling less smoke for the same high. But again, consume the pot, do not smoke it!

Creativity perhaps. Pot makes me lazy. All I want to do is play computer, IPad or video games. Sometimes (and it is good for me) I like walking high. But a lot of people try to be "creative" and think at the time they are doing something amazing, but when the person comes back to Earth, they realize the stupid shit they wrote. Actually getting high is great when one has to do manual labor. Takes some of the physical pain away momentarily, and gives the brain relief from the mundaneness of the task which needs to be done.

Also, to say that THC is a pain killer is fairly laughable. It can relieve pain, but the subject will be so stoned out. One can get "too high" like getting "too drunk". Usually feelings of paranoia, to be able to see things as they are, a crashing of reality (my job sucks, I am poor, the city I live in is a piece of crap), sort of the lifting of the "rose colored glasses". People do sometimes "wig out" and go to the hospital. Sure, pot is harmless until your young child eats a whole tray of pot brownies.

Not every person who smokes dope is a Cheech and Chong person. Also, to end, marijuana doesn't make anyone happier, or more "mellow”. If you are a cranky bastard, using will only make you a high cranky bastard. If you are worried and have anxiety about something, marijuana will just make you dwell on it more. Booze is good for escaping anxiety. I get drunk so I can unscrew my head and place it on a shelf, and I take a mental vacation. Alcohol is a dangerous drug man! That shit should be illegal! They tried that in the 1920's and it failed, but hey, it was the 1920's, no TV, shitty Charlie Chaplin movies, everyone wore dark clothing, and jazz sucked. People had little else but booze!

But then I discovered that by smoking marijuana regularly, I could turn off my critical thinking and so my grades soared and I graduated with flying colors. Only after graduating did I stop smoking marijuana and reflected on what a vile institution modern university is, teaching utter shit and discouraging critical thought.
Why couldn't you just turn off critical thinking without the MJ?

Cannabis and mental health

fucking hilarious bro. You can vape that shit now. Or eat that shit in an edible.

Also, it's like saying LSD causes mental issues in certain people, neglecting to mention the fact that those 'certain people' were already genetically predisposed to develop said issue.

You're correct. Some drugs truly can cause psychosis: alcohol, meth and crack come to mind. They can do serious organic damage, or kill ya.

But I've had a long time to watch those who "freak out" on cannabis or some psychedelic drug. In all cases, the person was whacky to begin with. Could be nature, or nurture, or both.

I got raided by the cops with 15 plants. Went to court thinking no big deal, but Judge said, better get a lawyer son max for you is 50,000 fine and 10 years in prison. Moral of this story is don't have more than ten plants in AUS.

I got a letter from the DR saying I needed it for pain relief and got no prison time and only got fined 2000.
