Florida gets smart.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I sure hope it is.

HOORAY FOR FLORIDA!
HOW WONDERFUL IT IS, ITS ABOUT TIME

I-95 and I-75 will be jammed for the next month or so with druggies and deadbeats heading North out of Florida , because this is the first state in the union to require drug testing to receive welfare!

Hooray for Florida ! In signing the new law, Republican Gov. Rick Scott said,"If Floridians want welfare, they better make sure they are drug-free."

Applicants must pay for the drug test, but are reimbursed if they test drug-free. Applicants who test positive for illicit substances, won't be eligible for the funds for a year, or until they undergo treatment. Those who fail a second time will be banned from receiving funds for three years!

Naturally, a few people are crying this is unconstitutional.
How is this unconstitutional? It's a legal requirement that every
person applying for a job has to pass drug tests in order to get the job, why not those who receive welfare?

Forward this if you agree!

Let's get welfare back to the ones who need it, not to those who won't get a job.
Thanks from Tony, Pilgrim and Twisted Sister

Want to bet that Rick Scot,t or a relative or close aide, has a financial interest in the company(s) that will get the contracts to perform all those drug tests?
...

In fact isn't this old news? Florida did this a while back. And yes, I'm not sure if it was the governor or some other bigwig's wife was the owner of the lab that got the contract to do the testing.

Then it turned out that the testing cost more than the amount of welfare they could cancel because of failed tests so they dropped the program. I'm too busy to ask Mr. Google right now.
Thanks from Sabcat and Hollywood

That was in the Tampa Bay area news last year but were worried there may be a constitutional problem. If the Florida welfare recipients are black, I recommend they move to Atlanta. In Atlanta getting SSI disability is rubber stamped for black people.

They already did this, they found out what other people already knew, people on welfare have a very low rate of drug use.
Because drugs cost money, and people on welfare don't have a lot of spare cash.
All that racist stereotyping apparently isn't good policy

Here is how food stamp recipients get free drugs in Atlanta. Using an EBT card they buy expensive steaks and sea food at the grocery store and trade the food for drugs in the project. I lived in Atlanta for 21 years and am knowledgeable on how to beat the system even though I never did it.

Only in your apparent delusions.

(Indeed, pre-employment drug testing is only legally required for quite limited types of positions, such as regarding truck drivers who are regulated by the D.O.T.)

And, as a matter of fact, the program in Florida found that the welfare population that was tested actually had a lower rate of positive drug results when compared with drug test results regarding the general population.

Thanks from Hollywood

Street level drug dealers take CASH.
They do NOT take credit cards, debit cards, personal checks OR fresh prime rib-eye steaks.
Because, you see, the guy that fronted them their supply wants cash, giving him something other than cash, or not enough cash, is a real good way to get a bullet in the head.
And the higher you go up the more than is true.

High dollar steaks and sea food are tangible commodities in the projects. I did not say street level, I said in the projects. Candy like Mars Bars, Snickers and Milky Way bars are also a tangible commodity in the projects.

Only a fool would buy drugs off the street.
