Will this be used in the war on opioid abuse?

Legal marijuana linked to reduction in opioid prescriptions

2 U.S. studies find fewer opioids prescribed to publicly insured patients in states with legal pot

Can legalizing marijuana fight the problem of opioid addiction and fatal overdoses? Two new studies in the debate suggest it may.

Pot can relieve chronic pain in adults, so advocates for liberalizing marijuana laws have proposed it as a lower-risk alternative to opioids. But some research suggests marijuana may encourage opioid use, and so might make the epidemic worse.

The new studies don't directly assess the effect of legalizing marijuana on opioid addiction and overdose deaths. Instead, they find evidence that legalization may reduce the prescribing of opioids. Over-prescribing is considered a key factor in the opioid epidemic.

Both studies were released Monday by the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.
A whole bunch of "I told you so"s are in order.

I started a thread about a few treatment facilities that have recently opened up using cannabinoids and kratom in their methods. Big pharma is against this. Why would they want people to use natural remedies when their toxic synthetics work so much better.

If you're talking about rub-on oils, you're wrong.

CBD oils barely penetrate the skin, and fail to penetrate joints. Snake oil.

While vaping or even smoking Cannabis does offer pain relief, consuming edibles works best, as any person using Cannabis and opioids knows.

I sometimes have episodes of eczema. Nothing works well for the itching except a small dose of Cannabis, which will offer 24-36 hours of relief or longer.
