It's called the golden rule, them has the gold makes the rules. And THAT sir is unfettered capitalism. No one is saying capitalism, especially western capitalism, hasn't been instrumental in raising the standard of living for billions of people. What we are saying is unfettered capitalism is as bad for the common man as any other society. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I would argue that unfettered capitalism is in fact worse. It supports and increases wealth inequality which further destroys the middle class. And the stupid fools are too dumb to realize that at some point a threshold effect will pertain and essentially kill all their great capitalist ventures because there aren't enough people who can afford to buy their crap.

They're half way there now, so WalMart with their Chinese and such sweatshop produced goods are getting to be all many, trending to most, can afford.

As I sort of commonly imply, the old definition of capitalism was synonymous with free enterprise. That association is now long dead.

So-called wealth inequality (whatever that actually means) created the modern society, with which 100 years ago in cities, and their suburbs, we had modern housing (yeah, there were tenements, they have those in Marxist countries as well), with indoor plumbing, hot and cold running water, telephone service, electricity.

It's funny you mention Walmart. I have a friend that used to work at their head quarters. She told me that is exactly their business modal. They intentionally drive manufacturing companies either out of the country or out of business. Destroying the manufacturing base keeps wages low, so that people can only afford to shop at Walmart.

They ARE the evil empire and I don't do business with them. They are a magnificent example of just how evil capitalism can be.

There's an excellent documentary on Walmart "The High Cost of Low Prices" after watching it, even if it's only half right, I was almost ready to blow up my local store just on principal.
Thanks from right to left

Capitalists do exploit labor sometimes, sometimes thru illegal immigration, sometimes under its old fashioned name of slavery.

Socialists like to see equal outcomes, so they just make everybody a slave.

I still say much if not most of those are self-inflicted injuries.

All capitalism is crony capitalism! Show me one corporation that doesn't make deals based on their level of control and influence over government! This mantra continually quoted by the right about the evils of government, is just a scam created to remove the power of the majority of people to control the kind of government they have and get their issues addressed. Under fascism, only corporations and wealthy landowning and banking interests control the government..but you can bet for damn sure the government isn't going anywhere in Ayn Rand Paradise! They need government to control the proles and defend them and their wealth-extracting enterprises.
