1. Extracting specifically what from asteroids?
It's all those 99% platinum asteroids orbiting around his head.

What are now rare earth minerals could easily become common just mining a single asteroid. Water, iron and other materials will be useful in colonizing the moon, mars, and space stations. This is online to begin in earnest by 2025.

WHY did you say what you said?
This is BUSINESS, something has to be cost effective.
IRON is fucking rare, water? Ever heard of desalinization plants?
You're talking shit.
The solar and wind technology exists NOW, it's HERE on THIS planet.
Thanks from RNG

Did you get a science and engineering degree from liberty

The rare earth minerals will be economically viable imports to earth, providing the financing to exploit water, iron, and other common finds on asteroids to create colonies.

In a hundred years thousands of people could live their lives off earth. In two hundred years, maybe millions.

This is doable with current technology.

There are major problems with extraterrestrial habitation. Sufficient water and oxygen aren't major problems but solar and galactic tradition, and meteoroids are a major problem. Low gravity is a problem.

Humans are equipped to live on earth. Maybe we could tinker with our genes?
