Most jobs are created by poor people looking for a better life.

Most wealth is controlled by wealthy people seeking to get more wealth at the expense of the poor.

Sorry, Donald, rich people like you and me actually don't create the jobs - Business Insider

I wonder if we could come up with some sort of laws that stopped that. I wonder if there could be some sort of tax or something, that compelled those rich company people to do right by the American people? Wonder what that could be..

The only reason rich people wouldn’t buy American is if liberals taxed them out of it.
Ohhh, wait now I remember what that tax was to keep American dollars in America, its called tariffs.

Next up, stopping illegals from sending money out of the USA

What happens then?

There you go again generalizing and stereotyping. Why do you make such profoundly stupid comments like that??
There are probably some who "hate rich people". There are probably some who "hate" poor people, short people, tall people, ugly people and people with red hair. There are probably some who are just hateful to everyone--for no reason at all.
Lord knows, we see them on DTT every single day. In fact, I've never encountered so many hate-filled people as we have here on DTT.

I live in a very wealthy community--probably no billionaires but LOTS and LOTS of millionaires. They are awesome people--generous, loving, kind, charitable, friendly.....and yes they have created jobs for others. But there are LOTS and LOTS of middle class people here too and THEY TOO have created jobs.
I was a business owner. I created jobs.

Well adjusted, mentally and emotionally stable people don't HATE other people or resent their good fortune or hard work. They aren't jealous or critical.

Currently we have a president who (even though he is very wealthy) is mentally and emotionally UNSTABLE. He's a perfect example of what MOST of us do NOT want to be--wealthy or not.

Not as long as Trump is allowed to keep his businesses overseas, and hiring foreign workers for his resorts.

Which are hurting the American worker, not the American elite.

Is it not their money? If you will not stop the corporations from hiding money offshore why are hypocrites like you even concerned about what the Mexican, and others, do with their money?

And what makes you ignorantly think it is only illegals sending money to support their families in poorer countries?
Thanks from RNG

Millionaires are rich these days? I don't think so. I read somewhere the other day some 500,000 americans cleared a million or more last year.

Many people overwhelmingly resent, envy, etc. successful people generally. It is by no means limited to money.

500,000 out of 300 million? I sincerely doubt that since the stats are not that quick to come to light.

I think this is apples and oranges. One is gross income and the other is net worth, ie total assets minus total liabilities.

Anyone with a single family dwelling in most urban areas free of mortgage is well on the way to qualifying for the second definition.

Yes, even Christ "resented, envied, etc." the wealthy. Then too, so did the Founding Fathers like Jefferson, Madison, Frankiln, to name a few.

https://www.economist.com/lexingtons...ke-it-with-you

"If there was one thing the Revolutionary generation agreed on — and those guys who dress up like them at Tea Party conventions most definitely do not — it was the incompatibility of democracy and inherited wealth.

With Thomas Jefferson taking the lead in the Virginia legislature in 1777, every Revolutionary state government abolished the laws of primogeniture and entail that had served to perpetuate the concentration of inherited property. Jefferson cited Adam Smith, the hero of free market capitalists everywhere, as the source of his conviction that (as Smith wrote, and Jefferson closely echoed in his own words), "A power to dispose of estates for ever is manifestly absurd. The earth and the fulness of it belongs to every generation, and the preceding one can have no right to bind it up from posterity. Such extension of property is quite unnatural." Smith said: "There is no point more difficult to account for than the right we conceive men to have to dispose of their goods after death."

The states left no doubt that in taking this step they were giving expression to a basic and widely shared philosophical belief that equality of citizenship was impossible in a nation where inequality of wealth remained the rule. North Carolina's 1784 statute explained that by keeping large estates together for succeeding generations, the old system had served "only to raise the wealth and importance of particular families and individuals, giving them an unequal and undue influence in a republic" and promoting "contention and injustice." Abolishing aristocratic forms of inheritance would by contrast "tend to promote that equality of property which is of the spirit and principle of a genuine republic."

Others wanted to go much further; Thomas Paine, like Smith and Jefferson, made much of the idea that landed property itself was an affront to the natural right of each generation to the usufruct of the earth, and proposed a "ground rent" — in fact an inheritance tax — on property at the time it is conveyed at death, with the money so collected to be distributed to all citizens at age 21, "as a compensation in part, for the loss of his or her natural inheritance, by the introduction of the system of landed property."
