The school system is basicly a canvas for the indoctrination into statism. Ten years by "law" many times over 20. Constant propaganda w/o much real world knowlage.

all public schools depend on federal money now. all federal money comes with strings.

all those strings get in the way of anyone trying to really teach children.

In CA, a recent state report found that candidates in teacher preparation programs declined for the 12th consecutive year. The number of new teachers is down 26% over the past five years. "Interns" are now being considered to fill the shortage.

Schools need to be privatized completely. With the money saved in taxes, parents can send their kid to a decent schoool. To graduate High School, one has to pass a test. Simple. No Common core garbage, or some government bureaucrat snooping around.

Public school is only as good as the teachers, parents and students. Students are very important, students are people. Some are smart, some are as dumb as rocks. The so called "No Child Left Behind" doesn't ring true. Some will be left behind. Some will never leave.
Is anybody being discriminated against now? Blacks more than anyone depend on their government for everything and things the government is Santa Claus with bags of Obamaphones. She's too busy getting her nails done. That's the teachers job. Schools in many places are babysitting for minorities. Nobody is being discriminated.

And without someone from the government snooping around, how would we know if all those private schools were doing their jobs ?? WHOSE job would it be to verify students were getting their education ??

There have been some pretty bad private schools out there too. Can you imagine how fast they would become unmanageable and how fast the quality would fall, if suddenly all public schools were closed and it was all turned over to the private sector ? Do you honestly believe it would remain cheaper once there was no public school ???

It's NOT an Obamaphone !!!!!! It's a REAGAN PHONE !!! Reagan started the program for land lines in 1985. Bush expanded it to cell phones in 2005. NO tax dollars are used to fund it !!!! If you think its only blacks using them, you're a racist moron !!
Thanks from imaginethat and Sabcat

Wow, is that offensive! I hope you remember this communication when we are old enough to know better, and have a sense of regret.

I don't believe today's education is about statism because that would assume the individual would think of such matters and I do not think this is the case.

What is the propaganda of which you speak.

Education for technology is not about being human and having social and political organization.

Did you see the original Star Trek shows? They often used themes about populations that were ruled by computers. In effect that is what we have created, only the computer is programmed humans, not electronics. However, to an increasing degree, decisions are being made digitally by computers. Our stock market is now under the control of digital decision making, and so millions of dollars can disappear with no idea where they went. Does that make sense? We are no longer talking of transferring money, and humans keeping records.

I need to get to the point and run. Our present education is about programming humans that are then plugged into the computer. This has nothing to do with human life. It is more like the Borg.

I agree with Beasty the boomers have done a lousy job, though for just about the total opposite of every reason she claims.
