Okay--here we go back to 3rd grade again and please find a dictionary. Ask for one for your birthday, please.
Belief: Belief is the state of mind in which a person thinks something to be the case, with or without there being empirical evidence to prove that something is the case with factual certainty.
Truth: that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality--fact, verity, certainty, certitude.
I realize these are BiG big big words and no photos or illustrations, but do your best. If an 8 year old can grasp it, surely you can too.
Aside from me and Sabcat, has anyone watched the video? If not, then for the love of all that is decent, please watch it. (A left/leaning?) professor gives a lecture on the topic to a bunch of college kids at a presumably LW college. Now if only you people will watch the video. PLEASE!!!

I did. And it confirms my view of the quality of Western academia. Of course this cannot be fixed, Western culture is beyond repair.

Oh yeah, let's all sit around and get on board with Franken-moron's "view of the quality of Western academia."

You guys knock yourselves out with that. I'd say tell Frankie "hi" for me, but he is probably ignoring all of you like-minded folks as well.

Too funny.

My favorite line (and I'm paraphrasing) is: You should allow people to be idiots.
Look, I'm still sorting out my opinions on this video. I totally get what Saad is saying but I'm not sure how I feel about it. But I will make a couple of points. 1) He's a Canadian 2) He is probably liberal, since most academics are liberal, but it's his liberal view that 'colors' what he says 3) My question about college professors is this: WHY aren't more academics conservatives? 4) Mature professors have very different views--life experience than 20 yr old college students who have just hatched out of the mom/dad egg. 20 yr olds are very idealistic. They want everyone to be 'equal'. They want justice for all. Anyhoooooo.....
I have a lot more questions/concerns/thoughts so I'll get back to you.
Thanks from Panther and Sabcat

Young people are idealistic, passionate, justice-prone. That hasn't changed ONE bit.
Bullshit, take your head out of the sand....these young idiots are now screaming for "safe places" and about "micro aggressions" these kids are sissified idiots.

Gee, maybe RW should take more of an actual interest in higher education other that bitching and moaning about teachers unions and PC.
You know maybe if the RW were teachers and professors and administrators in the education system.
It seems the RW has no real interest in higher education, other tan just something to bitch about.

You are right, but this is NOT happening on every campus. There are protests everywhere across the country. But having said that, I admit the PC stuff has swung too far--not just on campuses but in every venue. Our daughter-in-law is a professor at the U of Wy so we hear all kinds of strange stories affirming the so-called "sissified" students.
Thanks from Panther, Sabcat and Grizz1

Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video. Concerning your points, correspondingly:

1.) I don't understand what his nationality has to do with it? We have young adults coming from all across the globe to attend our colleges and universities. 2.) If he is a left leaning liberal then he, or many others of the same politics, are the only ones that can do this. Conservatives cannot. Or can they? 3.) I could offer a hypothesis, but how fair would it be? 4.) I guess so? I was helpful if i could be, but when i went to college i went to further my education. Not change people to think as i do or join a crowd to join the world. But that is just me.

Anyways, thanks again for taking the time to watch the video. I look forward to hearing your further thoughts.

Why do many educators favor socialism?
