You must have been hell on wheels in school.

What we know for sure is that weapons of ANY kind are NOT allowed at school.
Handbooks are sent home before school starts. Rules and procedures are spelled out in detail. Parents AND students are required to sign and return the form saying they have read and understand the requirements.
When I bought backpacks for my kids, I opened them up and looked in all the pockets---doesn't everyone DO that before they purchase something?? Don't you look for flaws, rips, or tears? Aren't you concerned with the quality and strength of the backpack??
Like I said...there's something rotten in Denmark, errr....backpack land.
Here's a story on the incident, because webbie can't be bothered with showing any respect for DTT members by presenting objective evidence.

Branch Co. mother says son was suspended from school after reporting knife

A Branch County mother says her son was suspended from school for doing the right thing.

Kyler Davies, a 7th grade student, found a pocket knife in his backpack. His mom tells us she bought the bag at Goodwill and never checked it. When her son found it, he told a counselor, and was suspended.

"He was turning it over like he was supposed to, and you are punishing him for doing what's right. So what is that teaching these kids?" his mother Denise Davies asked.

...Newschannel 3 has also made several attempts to speak with Coldwater superintendent Terry Boguth. Just before 4 p.m., we received a statement on behalf of the district:

Coldwater Community Schools does not disclose information regarding the discipline of individual students under any circumstance. However, discipline procedures are in our student handbook and are consistent with Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education policies which comply with the current laws of the State of Michigan regarding student discipline.

I was a joy (my poor mother)

It was actually my daughter that brought it to my attention. "Inappropriate or offensive language"

She says "but everybody gets offended by everything now days. I need to know what words I will get punished for"

This is also the one who's 3rd grade class was bared from using the word "poop" for a period of time because she was using it creatively.

Go figure.

I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's in rural Texas it was not uncommon for students to carry a 30-30 lever action rifle to school so they could hunt on the way home. They walked right in school carrying the rifle and put it in their locker. Nothing said about it.

Back when this was still America.

Texas has always been out of step with reality.

The in the good old days delusion is pandemic on the right.
