Higher Education Should Be FREE!

Just like it is in most other developed countries. But then, those countries don't have the same problem with useless negroes and mexicans that we have. Despite that, I think it could still be done. After all, a high school education is free. All that needs to be done is extend that to higher education. If I thought there was a snowflakes chance in hell of my ever being to afford college, I would have done better in high school.
Thanks from iolo and McCoy

oh great....another one who thinks 18 year olds should get a cart blanch education in basket weaving at the expense of people who worked damned hard for what they have..

I got a better idea....those high school grads should be inducted into the military, where they can get a good dose of life's realities, and then they can use their GI benefits to pick an education that will suit them in their life...

Next thing you know, you'll be starting a thread titled "Food and houses should be FREE. And you'll include this line "If I thought there was a snowflakes chance in hell of my ever being to afford food and housing, I would have done better in college."
Thanks from webguy4 and Jimgorn

Try this experiment, go into any factory in America where people are grinding out whatever they make and tell them everybody has to work another hour for "free" to pay for this scheme of giveaway education, see how well that goes over.

If free college education SUCH a bad fucking idea, WHY has a big red state like Tennessee not only had the Promise scholarship since fall of 2015 and has now ADDED the Reconnect program for ADULTS !!!

The annual cost of a TN two year college is a little over $4,000. Graduates and now adults can get TWO YEARS free. So lets call it $8,000.

If the person averages even $10,000 more each year in annual income, how long will it be before they have paid back that investment ? How many times over will they repay it ?? Not to mention that one of the things companies look at is the education level of the population when deciding where to locate offices and plants. A better educated population will draw higher paying companies.

Free or low cost post secondary education is a no fucking brainer. Especially in the trades. But sadly some people only see all those damned negroes and wetbacks getting something for free. Can't see past their own bigotry to see the bigger picture and long term benefits.

The expansion is going to be paid for with lottery dollars. I'm not sure that get-rich schemes appealing to the poor, like the lottery, are a proper way to fund a program which tries to get people out of poverty.

I think it's brilliant. The people, mostly poor, who play the lottery are in fact funding the educations of their own children and grandchildren thereby slowly lifting them out of poverty. It's a win win. But even if it was tax payer funded, I still believe investing in education is money well spent.

Here we go again...most other developed countries blah blah blah....Show me in the US Constitution where it says that the Federal Government should be involved in education.... let alone free higher education... Along with healthcare, your kids wearing seat belts, and on and on...

Show me in the Constitution when it says you shouldn't kiss my firm and muscled ass.
