Well, I'm glad there's no such thing as global warming, and the Arctic Ocean isn't melting enough to allow cruise ships to sail from Alaska thru the Northwest Passage and on to New York City, or create atmospheric 'rivers' that are not dumping unprecedented amounts of rain creating disasters, such as not in California recently, and we haven't had a mostly snow-free winter here in the Great Lakes region...it's all been a figment of our imaginations!

Ships have sailed through the Arctic Ocean before. And the Arctic Ocean isn't melting.

Scientific studies show the Arctic was ice free ~10,000 years ago, during the last ice age.

You'd think that Canadians of all people would want a degree or two of warming.

Historically, going back ~1200 years, California had vastly longer droughts (this one was predicted by 'experts' to be permanent).

And California has had historically during those times far greater rain and snow impacts.

I did not know this was going to get deep and spoke off the cuff in my first answer. There were graphs and tables in the back of the book and a PTD is measured in one thousandth of a degree (millivolt) and fast acting but that trivial knowledge did not apply at the Pie Factory and a PTD has a narrow temperature range and works best between one hundred degrees above room temperature and below freezing it gets shaky and for high and low temperatures we used a thermocouple the J, R and K that had a wide range of measured temperature but much less accurate.

Ever hear of the Permian-Triassic Extinction? It happened about 250 million years ago when the breakup of Supercontinent- Pangea led to prolonged volcanism and raised atmospheric CO2 levels so high, at least 95% land animal species went extinct, and the ocean became devoid of marine life, except for cyanobacteria that created a giant swamp devoid of oxygen where nothing else could live!

The fun part is that we are raising carbon levels so fast, we are setting up the same conditions as that greatest of all extinction events on Earth...only difference we are doing it many times faster!

More propaganda from the phony climatologists with their jiggered data. IOW, the mother of all fake news.

CO2 at 400ppm is no problem, and at 500ppm, which it will not reach unless the planet does it somehow, would not be a problem either.

The atmospheric CO2 level is not rising as fast as predicted and the Climatologists are blaming it on the world wide ocean that is absorbing the extra CO2 and that opens up a new ball of wax.

Climatology is an evolving science. Anyone, on either side, who speaks as if all that needs to be known is known is full of crap.

Like excalibur, who is a paid troll for the fossil fuel industry.

Maybe we should pass a law taxing volcanoes or something

California drought: Past dry periods have lasted more than 200 years, scientists say ? The Mercury News

All interesting factoids, but the Arctic is melting.
