Trump announces withdrawal from Paris Climate Agreement

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, two senior US officials familiar with his plans told CNN Wednesday.

The administration's decision comes after months of internal debate and speculation about what Trump, who campaigned on leaving the deal, would do once he took office.

But Ivanka Trump, the President's top aide and daughter, pressed aides to look at the full picture when considering what withdrawal could mean.

President Donald Trump is expected to pull out of the Paris climate agreement, multiple news organizations are reporting, citing White House officials.

Trump and many of his allies have long dubbed the Paris Agreement a "bad deal" for America.

The two sides had quibbled over whether language in the text of the Paris Agreement allowed the United States to reduce its commitment.

I hate it when thread titles are a direct misrepresentation of what the facts in the article are.

Paris climate deal: EU and China rebuff Trump - BBC News

Quote:
Chinese and EU leaders are to agree a joint statement on the Paris climate agreement saying it is "an imperative more important than ever".

A draft of the document, seen by the BBC, stresses the "highest political commitment" to implement the deal.

It will be widely seen as a rebuff to the US, as President Trump prepares to announce on Thursday if the US is withdrawing from the accord.

Obama certainly embarrassed himself and the US by signing the agreement with no authority to do so.

Trying to bind the nation to a treaty without the Senate ratifying the treaty. Typical Obama.

Trump said voters from Pittsburg elected me and not voters from Paris. Pittsburg hints at the rust belt so I take it that Trump is going to shine up the rust belt.

Even Donald Trump’s hand picked audience in the White House Rose Garden couldn’t muster any enthusiasm for his falsehood studded announcement of a stupendous blunder for the nation.

I suspect their weak applause was muted by their overwhelming shame for what was transpiring in front of them, as Donald Trump abdicated US global leadership.

The breathtakingly unprincipled Republican Party has declared it’s Moral Bankruptcy. They’ve become thoroughly corrupted, intellectually dishonest, opponents of the common good.

Andy Borowitz: Calling Earth a ?Loser,? Trump Vows to Make Better Deal with New Planet - The New Yorker

Here's what I think. Trump's going to build a wall to keep out the CO2 and the planet losers will pay for it.
