And you prove my point.

The OVERWHELMING majority of climate scientists tell us that climate change is real and is the result of human activity.

But you don't like the conclusions so you write it off as some kind of left wing "political agenda"

It's the same with evolution and the origin of the universe. The scientists tell us that another eclipse will cross the US in 2024 and you don't even think to question it. Because nothing about that prediction upsets your right wing worldview. But climate change, evolution and origins of the universe DO challenge your worldview so you blather on about some sort of "political agenda" to deny it.

Yet the same application of the scientific method that has led to predictions about eclipses has led to predictions about climate change, evolution and origins of the universe. You use all the technological wonders of the early 21st century, all invented by the application of the same scientific method. You decide what you'll accept and reject not based on scientific principles but brcause of political bias.

We made the eclipse a family event. Made sure we were in totality, it was great. Some details were surprising. I'm sorry to couldn't get anyone to make the drive down to Hopkinsville, Ky.

Want is really sad is all the people on these boards that are allowing President Donald J Trump to dominate their thoughts and outrage.

The average temperature in January has risen by 5 degrees over the last decade, and 7 of the last 15 rainfall disasters since the 1850s have happened since 2000. No one can convince me that global climate change is a hoax.

Regarding science, I see 1) a fundamental difference between predicting the path of consistent measurable celestial phenonena, and the patchwork of guessing, speculation, and predetermined outcome that accompanies the "science" of human origins, which includes a lot of words such as "we think" and "might indicate". No one had to speculate as to the time and place of the 2017 eclipse. That was real science.

As for me, the exact mathematical precision that an eclipse follows is another clear indication of intelligent design.

It matters not. I changed the category to environment. Feel free to continue to discuss any political aspects though.

Very good post; however, I think the real issue for debate is whether global warming is the direct result of human activity, or just a natural cycle the earth is going through.

I think it might be a bit of both.
