Another straw-man? Moving the goalposts again? Or are you just incapable of grasping what is being said?

What was said was that Hurricane Irma was the largest, most powerful (high sustained wind speeds) storm in the Atlantic Ocean on record. And that may well be true, but if not, it was at least the second most powerful storm on record. Nobody said that it was the most powerful hurricane "to make US landfall".

Hurricane Irma Is Now The Most Powerful Atlantic Ocean Storm In Recorded History
IFL Science
With wind speeds of 300 kilometers per hour (185 miles per hour), Irma now ranks as the most powerful hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the second most powerful in the Atlantic basin, which includes the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico, behind Hurricane Allen in 1980 that hit the latter two with winds of 305 km/h (190 mph).

Extreme Category 5 Irma crashes into Caribbean, sets sights on Florida and Southeast U.S.
The Washington Post
For nearly two days, monstrous Hurricane Irma has sustained Category 5 winds of at least 180 miles per hour while ripping through the northern Lesser Antilles and Virgin Islands. The storm, tied for the second-strongest ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, is headed for the southeastern Bahamas and, by the weekend and early next week, Florida and the Southeast United States. This historically intense hurricane, which maintained winds of 185 miles per hour longer than any storm ever recorded on Earth, is forecast to modestly weaken in the next two days, but remain an extremely dangerous Category 4 or 5 storm. It will produce the full gamut of hurricane hazards across the Bahamas and potentially South Florida, including a devastating storm surge, destructive winds and dangerous flash flooding.

Hurricane Irma: How big is the hurricane and how wide is the eye of the storm?
Express
How big is Hurricane Irma? Hurricane Irma as big as France and could cover the UK and Ireland, according to weathermen shocked by its size. Liam Dutton, weather presenter for Channel 4 News, tweeted: “Hurricane Irma is so big that it would cover the UK and Ireland.” Satellite photographs have revealed that Irma stretches 400 miles across. Sky correspondent Ian Woods said: "It’s the size of France. It’s an enormous beast”. Irma could also cover the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina at once. To put this vast size into perspective, the state of Michigan itself is roughly 96,715.8 square miles (250,493 km2). A picture overlay from NBC5 meteorologist Brian James also revealed that Irma is big enough to completely cover Texas.

Right.....because the science and the recorded evidence all indicate quite clearly that hurricanes/typhoons are indeed stronger now. Too bad your demented, politically motivated denial of reality prevents you from seeing or understanding that.

Is that one of your delusional denier cult myths?

In reality, scientists for decades have been saying that hurricanes/typhoons may possibly become fewer in overall sum total number of all categories of storms because global warming seems to be increasing upper level wind speeds, causing more of the shearing effect that tends to destabilize storms systems before they grow into hurricanes. They also predicted that the stronger cat. 3&4 storms will would get stronger and bigger and would drop more water....and would probably increase in number. And that is what has happened. The strongest storms have gotten bigger, stronger, and more numerous, even as the total number of all categories of storms has declined a bit. This trend is predicted to continue with even larger and more powerful hurricanes to come.

In a Warming World, the Storms May Be Fewer But Stronger
NASA Earth Observatory
...But measuring a storm’s maximum size, heaviest rains, or top winds does not capture the full scope of its power. Kerry Emanuel, a hurricane expert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, developed a method to measure the total energy expended by tropical cyclones over their lifetimes. In 2005, he showed that Atlantic hurricanes are about 60 percent more powerful than they were in the 1970s. Storms lasted longer and their top wind speeds had increased by 25 percent.

Actually, as is obvious to most people, that is exactly backwards. It is you ignorant anti-science denier cult nutbaggers who have been brainwashed by the lies, propaganda and pseudo-science that has been churned out by the fossil fuel industry as they try to prevent society from making any meaningful attemps to limit carbon emissions, because that would also severely limit their huge profit stream and crash their stocks.

As I write what is left of Irma is giving a sensitive, gentle and seductress rain on Brown Township with no wind, lightning nor tornadoes, Thanks Irma.

Besides diddly-squat, what do you imagine that fluff means to anyone after seeing the trail of destruction and devastation Irma left across the Carribean, the Keys, Florida and several states to the north?

Have you been drinking?

My elevation is 947 feet above sea level and the eastern edge of the mid-west. People who want to live in a hurricane zone at an elevation less than 12 feet or two fathoms have the right to live on top of an active volcano if they want. However, I do not want to live either place so they suffer from the genetic defect called stupidity. People who live in Naples are brain dead and people who live in California are tards.

Do you actually think that because you have learned to enlarge your font it will make your "message" any more effective?

Do you have anything to add to the discussion, or are you just making the rounds this morning dealing out personal digs?
Thanks from Hollywood

Do you actually have anything to comment on concerning the contents of the post, or just the size of the font used?
