EPA proposes reversing stricter pollution rules ...

... for heavy-duty trucks with older engines

I guess Dot.Don just misses the sight of big rigs belching all that black smoke as they accelerate from a stop when the light turns green.

Are his office and residence in Trump tower high enough for him to be above the air the lesser folk have to breath?

Quote:
The Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule Thursday to repeal tighter emissions standards for heavy-duty trucks with older engines, an Obama-era regulation aimed at controlling soot and other pollutants along with greenhouse-gas emissions linked to climate change.

Major trucking groups and engine manufacturers supported the 2016 rule, which was set to take full effect in January. But it was fiercely opposed by a handful of companies that manufacture truck components called gliders and trailers. A glider, or body, is the front of a truck, including the cab, which fits over the engine. Trailers are the storage components that make up most of the length of a truck.

In a statement, Pruitt — who met privately in May with Fitzgerald Truck Sales, the manufacturer that stands to benefit most from the rule’s repeal — said the rule disproportionately affected an industry that produces roughly 10,000 gliders a year. Originally intended to allow truckers to continue using engines when their vehicles had been damaged in accidents, some now buy new components to house older engines as a way of saving thousands of dollars.

It depends if they have a new or old engine in them of course.

Or if we aren't playing "Who can sound like the bigger fool", which I would never play you since it's a foregone conclusion that you will win.

I can tell you that if you re-read it real slow, and maybe use a dictionary to help you with the big words, you might be able to figure out that it is saying that these regs on truck engines are opposed by companies that make gliders (where engines go) and trailers. They are not saying this would effect trailers in any way.

That is what the state has done to circumnavigate the constitution. They create alphabet agencies, get congress to vote on a bill giving them blanket authority over a subject and then the agency runs rampent on the people disregarding natural rights. But hey, its for your own good and if you dissagree you must hate dolphins or some shit.
