The GOP attitude to energy

From a RedState article on the fact that the FERC isn't moving fast enough to get rid of all the Obama energy policies to improve the environment. It also is criticizing the decision not to subsidize coal fired and nuke plants.

It is linked below.

But one paragraph needs emphasis:

Quote:
Of course fake energy sources like wind and solar don’t like the backup plan – because their fake energy can’t be backed up. They don’t make nearly enough energy on the front end.
It doesn't get much worse than this folks.

The Obama policies @ least would have slowed the rate of environmental damage. That may have been all that was possible, @ the time.

& ironically, of course, all energy to date in use on planet Earth is ultimately solar. It's filtered through various biological systems - if the upfront loading is such an issue, we could always build solar receptors in Earth orbit & beam the power down to rectannae. You'd have a steady-state (relatively) power source for the next - what? 5.0 billion years? (You'd have to adjust the array & frequencies after that - but if the sun goes red giant, you wouldn't have to worry for very long ...)

Yes it is a stupid statement. They are not fake sources of energy, they are very expensive forms of energy..

Wind and Solar are not efficient enough to be self sustaining. If they were, Gas Coal and hydroelectric would be out of business
