Without the Scotland and Ulster votes for leaving the referendum would not have been won.

the EU is dying. forcing such disparate cultures and lifestyles together was overly ambitious from the start, there was never enough of a bond between the member states to make it work. but the fact it has been such an economic failure will be its undoing. politics can overrule lack of social connectivity, but it cannot overrule the economic failure. eventually even the most zealous idealogues have to acknowledge economic reality.

Plus way too many weak sisters that need carrying by the healthy economies. The big mystery to me is why Germany and the German people appear to be so pro-EU.

because they rule the EU. germany is their largest economy, by far. second was england, who used to play a balancing role against german influence. with england gone, there is nobody to balance them, and germany rules the EU. world war 1 and 2 didnt do it, it was by patient politics that germany came to rule europe.

the weak sisters, in particular those who use the euro, would actually be much better off if they left the union. the political left has managed to create a stereotype that the media are buying - if you want to leave the EU it means you are a right wing racist xenophobe. they will find that, like england, if they actually were to put it to a vote the people would vote to leave. the european commission commented that this was a good reason to not let people vote.

Yes, it was the same in Ulster the majority voted for Remain but the Leave votes in Scotland and Ulster made it possible for the Leave campaign to win.

Without them it would have been a defeat for Brexit

That's some very twisted logic there. Unless you assume the leave votes were counted but the remain votes weren't, it doesn't works that way.

It allows them to be an influential and powerful nation but without all the hassle that the Germans of the past went through and ultimately failed.

In Ulster the Remain votes were counted and they had a majority. The Leave people were beat and were the minority. However, it was how the UK as a whole voted and that's where the Leave votes (although a minority) in Scotland and Ulster swung it for Brexit.

Yes, but that isn't what you were saying above.
