Love to go there. Never been to Europe. Been to Macau in China which was a Portugese colony way back when and for some reason you can still see some Portugese language on signs and whatnot, although everyone now speaks Chinese or English.

Historically, why did the Portugese split off from the Spanish in language and identity since basically both of your peoples came from the Iberian Peninsula? Actually just having all these different languages in Europe over not that wide of an area has always interested me.

Portugal 400-500 years ago was a European power colonizing the "New World" including what is now Brazil, and actually Brazil has more Portugese speakers than Portugal itself.

That and dope is legal there is all I know about your country.

Sometimes one speaks better when one is silent
It was a reply to Hollywood who wondered why Brazil speaks Portuguese when the rest of South America is Spanish. The Pope gave Brazil to the Portuguese because they were crying about Spain getting everything. Since Portugal was a Papist supporting state and had fought for the Papal interests, that was Portugal's reward.

I am not much for silencing history. Good luck with trying that on me

Good afternoon friend, I'm glad to hear about my country's history.
Yes I agree with the friend when he says that my country was a pontencia, the biggest problem of Portugal was to have little population in the year 1500 the population of portugal total 1.5 million and a half if my country had more population of certainty that the afriaca of the south I speak Portuguese today and not English. Is a small example
For the size of my country and with the population that had few inhabitants did much. I am proud of the history of my country. I am sure that schools from all over the world when they talk about Cristobal colombo are practically obliged to speak about the history of my country.portugal number one spain number 2 england number three etc. In discoveries sim portugal and spain england has great history, but also admire the history of roman greece italy egypt.
I also liked to know the whole American continent as I liked to know the new countries where my ancestors occupied many years.Brazil is the largest country in the South America has more than 200 million who speak the Portuguese language, and as Portuguese I say this for me, Portugal a small country and made a great nation that is Brazil. Agreement tordesilhas portugal and kingdom of castela in 1492 the spain was not called spain only came to be called spain in the years 1576. And portugal never had war with spain, yes you had wars with reigns catholic in the peninsula iberica reign asturias lion aragon kingdom of castela mulçumanos That occupied the portuguese territory portugal was conquered to the Muslims that occupied portugal and the wars that portugal had with the catholic kingdoms so much were the Portuguese that entered their territory as they entered our territory, one of the biggest defeats of castile was in the year 1385 that Had in portugal a portuguese against 7 castelhanos battle of aljubarrota with the name spain war with portugal 1801 wars of oranges they occupied our olivença that has area 730 there is an agreement in vienna from austria to spain deliver olivença to portugal When Spain had the civil war 36-39 Portuguese military wanted to occupy our olivença the Portuguese fascist dictator antonio oliveira salazar said no military patents. I hear now spain ask england the gibbertar territory that is inside spain, I just say spain that deliver ceuta and other territories that has occupied in the north of africa and that delivers olinca to portugal is portuguese territory is not spanish so I agree that England delivered gibraltar to spain.the relations portugal spain today are better but many portuguese do not like the castelhanos because they occupy our olivenza that will never be forgotten and our pain is alive, turned to the discoverers not spain, yes castela v portugal divided the world In the middle with the agreement of tordesilhas. It was not the spain who discovered north america who discovered america was critovão colombo at the behest of the reign of castille name spain did not exist in time of colombo, when we speak of portugalv spain history of his wars that had knot we do not speak spain we speak reindados of the peninsula iberica as Major wars portugal v was with castela and not spain was only called spain when all the kingdoms of the Iberian peninsula were united except the reinda of portugal.
The only thing that can be called the Iberian peoples speaking noelatinas languages.
Although our cultures seijas identical because of the religion but we are many different Celtic peoples was a Celtiberian people Phoenician Lusitanian Lusitanian Muslim etc etc are different peoples yes many have mixed, in the world there is no pure human race all of them are mixed for over 2000 thousand Years is the story

He is passionate about Port wine and this Thursday took home a Ferreira of 1815 for 6.75 thousand euros, which reverted to the association of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a record value.
Friend if I were Christian ronaldo I bought as I am not even the smell of this wine I have right. It's wine only for capitalists.

This is the bottle that was sold to an Englishman for 6.75 thousand euros
The Englishman better not open that 1815 Port because it may have turned to rancid vinegar after 202 years.

That friend, Pope, was in favor of the Castilians and not in favor of Portugal.
Who divided the world was not spain v portugal (was castela v portugal)
My country is a nation older than spain and has the oldest borders of europe

Portugal, as perhaps you know, Avis, is always described here as 'our oldest ally'. Spain, bedamn, is very far from being that!
