Now Russia Gets Its Own Bernie Sanders/Jeremy Corbyn candidate

While the CIA and other US agencies were busy the last few years trying to promote a piece of crap CIA puppet candidate- Alexander Navalny as the opposition to Putin, a real opposition candidate emerged a couple of weeks ago at the national Communist Party Convention. The candidate- Pavel Grudinin has been Sanders-like in the sense of being an ally but not actually a member of the Communist Party up till now. This has been due partly to the corruption within the Party and the ease with which its past leadership has approved major legislation and policies of Putin and Medvedev...but no more!

The new Communist Party leader has just announced a 20 step plan that proposes to do much to unwind Russia's turn down the road of extreme capitalism after the dissolution of the Soviet Union:

TASS: Russian Politics & Diplomacy - Communist presidential contender unveils 20-step program to spur growth in Russia

Quote:
MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. The Russian Communist Party’s presidential candidate Pavel Grudinin has announced his 20-step program that will make Russia strong and powerful again, overcome poverty and ensure a decent standard of living for all of its citizens.

The program’s initial points are devoted to "changing the country’s economic strategy" and "restoring Russia’s economic sovereignty." "Our priority will be the prosperity of the general public…We will make Russia’s riches, its natural, industrial and financial resources serve its people, we will nationalize strategically important and systemic industries, the power sector, railways, communications systems and leading banks," said the document published on the party’s official website on Thursday.

The state will also restore monopoly on ethyl alcohol’s wholesale, the program pledges.

If Grudinin wins Russia’s March 2018 presidential election, his team plans to "limit the access of foreign speculative capital to the Russian market." "We will withdraw from the World Trade Organization…We will use credit resources to cultivate the economy, and for this aim we will cut interest rates, put an end to wild capital outflow, and focus on investing all available assets into domestic production and people," it said.

Economic modernization and industrialization will rely on science and new technologies, the candidate vowed.

Grudinin’s team expects that Russia’s food security will be ensured by the steady development of villages. At least 10% of budget funds will be allocated for this objective. "Our historic goal is to ensure the rebirth of a provincial Russia," Grudinin said.

The presidential candidate’s plan is also to streamline the possibilities of regional budget and support small towns and villages.

The presidential contender also plans to control prices on key foodstuffs and essentials, and on public utilities rates too, which should not exceed 10% of any family income.

Taxes will be distributed "for the sake of justice and development," the candidate said. "Income taxes will grow for the rich and will be abolished for the poor. The tax system will encourage investment and innovative activity of enterprises and a value-added tax that is stifling industry will be eliminated," he promised.

The country’s minimum wage will be 25,000 rubles ($439), Grudinin said, also promising "decent" retirement benefits for citizens.

Grudinin’s team also vows to increase Russia’s combat readiness and guarantee national security and fair trials. "The president will be controlled by and accountable to the people and the parliament. The impeachment procedure will be also simplified. No one will have the right to serve as president for more than two four-year terms during their entire life," the program assured.

What's wrong with going from this:

To this:

?

What they're going to end up with is the same thing that's happening in Venezuela:

When that happens, they'll try to blame it on someone else.

Russia today has one of the highest income and wealth gaps in the world. Like a neighbor of mine who grew up and came of age in Bulgaria during the time when everything was falling apart said:'the grownups had to stand in lines every day to get food and other necessities, but at least everyone was provided for. Regarding your picture show, at least the people in the long lines of the Soviet era got something! How many Russians today can afford to shop at the store in your second picture? But, then again, same damn thing is happening in America today.

After communism ended there, a few people got rich, young people(like him)left or tried to leave, old people starved if they didn't have any children sending money back home after their pension payments were cut off, and a lot of middle aged men who lost their jobs in state enterprizes drank themselves to death even before their money ran out'..so you tell me which system was better!

As for Venezuela...amazing that with everything so bad there, the CIA-managed opposition still can't win elections determined to be free and fair by international agencies! Maybe that's because the majority of Venezuelans know that a good chunk of their hardships are caused directly by US sanctions and other shit America does to nations that do not want to be vassal states for the American Empire! And, they are surely aware of what's happened in Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Argentina, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua etc. etc...all these other countries where military or judicial-led coups like Brazil and Argentina have overthrown left governments of various descriptions, ALL of them have ended up with more poverty and more violence, and assholes like Trump and his minions calling them "shitholes!"
