When will these people learn that America is not the America of 20 years ago or even 10 years ago?

The politics of division from the conservative right is disgusting. I am so glad this effort has failed and that J. C. Penney is not caving into these radical hate mongers.

Growing up, my mom always bought a lot of our clothes from Penneys, and if she were alive today, as someone who loved Ellen and Penneys, she would be disgusted by the actions of this group, and would be thrilled at the outcome.

Penney's has what I need at a savings than if I were to shop for the same clothes at a Macy's, Neiman-Marcus, or Nordstroms.

I hate that a group like this Million Mothers just assumes that in order to have family values, you are a homophobic bigot.....My parents were married 60 years and they raised 4 successful children in a beautiful home, and they have no problem with gays and completely support me and and are thrilled to have a son-in-law like my husband.

Ellen is wildly popular in America. I think social conservatives are out of touch with reality......the culture war is over and they lost.

No brainiac, we are both male husbands in a same sex marriage.

...and we are interracial, I am sure that adds insult to injury for you.

No, dear, race doesn't matter to me. In my world there is only one human race. We think differently. I don't see humans as "black" and "white" or "interracial", etc. I'm a realist. The fact you automatically label me a racist shows your biased thinking. I think in realistic terms while you think in abstract magical terms. Two husbands now make a "marriage". That's abstract magical thinking.

No, but since my marriage seems to be your business then why should I think that our races wouldn't be as big a factor as our gender or sexual orientation?

You have to forgive me, I have a hard time understanding bigots and bigot logic, so if I got that wrong then I apologize. Most homophobes are racists as well.

No, dear, I'm not afraid of gay people. I am also not a bigot, but I understand your desperate need to be the victim to make your situation acceptable.

Excuse me? Who is the victim here? You seem to forget that YOU are the one that has a problem with MY marriage, not me....I am fine with it.

For someone who claims to not be a bigot and a homophobe, you sure do a good job of making yourself out to be both.
