As everyone on here knows (if you have been reading any of my posts) I am a big supporter of Gay rights and now that Obama has come out in favor of gay marriage does that mean I am going to vote for him?

HELL NO....

Gay rights and same sex marriage are only one subject out of many...

I can tell you that I probably won't vote for someone who does not support gay rights....but being a supporter of gay rights is not enough to get my vote in and of itself.

Well, of the people running for president, President Obama is the only one that comes CLOSE to not being anti-gay.

Sounds like you're going to be voting for someone like Ron Paul or whoever the 3rd party candidate is, Wolfe.

I think Johnson is the only ethical conservative running, and the only one close to being a real libertarian. I wouldn't vote for him myself because I completely disagree with his tax and economic policies, but I think he's a good guy and a respectable choice - unlike everyone else on the right who ran for President this time (except for Fred Karger).

People need to realize that the president is the president of The United States, not the Gay United States.

Some people will vote solely based on economic and domestic and foreign policy issues and disregard social issues, because really, who the president IS rarely matters at the end of the day. We made some of our greatest leaps and bound in equal rights for gays under Bush.

Certainly, we want to make sure that we have a president who chooses Supreme Court nominees in accordance with our views....but at the end of the day, when we look at social issues like gay rights, we have only moved more to the left in this country in spite of who holds office.

It seems to me your god would send someone who is not illiterate to spread the word on such issues.

Even the expression "gay rights" is misleading as it suggests homosexuals lack rights without explaining what they are.

In reality it is a subterfuge for pursuing yet more special privileges.

But many people feel too consumed with guilt, or are too terrified of appearing non-pc, to admit it
