Westboro Baptist Just Messed With The Wrong Group Of Students

They had no idea what these kids had in store.

A crowd of high school students drove Westboro Baptist Church protestors away from their school in Kansas City, Missouri last week where the hate group gathered to protest the recent election of a transgender girl as homecoming queen.

Westboro showed up to picket Oak Park High School on Thursday, Oct. 1, but were met by a rally of students already gathered to support transgender homecoming queen Landon Patterson.

Westboro was driven away from their picketing site by counter-protestors carrying signs with phrases such as "Westboro Baptist Church need Jesus" and chanting "long live the queen!"

"This isn't just about supporting Landon, this is about supporting all our students,"Christina Palermo, an organizer for the rally, told a local news outlet. "Landon is just their scapegoat. They're attacking everyone in the LGBT community."

Westboro Baptist Church, which has been classified as a hate group, is based in Topeka, Kansas and regularly stages high-profile protests known for featuring their trademark slogan "God Hates Fags."

Fortunately, Westobor has faced counterprostests more and more frequently in recent months. In fact, just over a year ago The Huffington Post staged a huge love-in to fight against the group when it protested its offices in 2014.

Roselyn Carter started closing down the nut houses (insane asylums) and Ronald Reagan put an end to most of them. Nuts are running loose on the streets or locked up in the jail house. Mental health is a big issue that America needs to redress.

3 years ago (?) they came to Nashville. The bikers and the pagans linked arms, started singing and walked them right out of the area and away from the funeral.

I found the patriot rider web site and sent it to my dad. All he said was, YUP !! They don't argue with 700 lbs motorcycles. !!! I had no idea he had ridden with them, I was SO proud !!!!
Thanks from LongWinded and Lyzza

I was in a title for title race with the Hells Angels wearing colors and lost but then won when the President of the Club said, the Hells Angels lied. They wanted me to join but said I can not because I have a Secret Security Clearance. My best girlfriend of all time was once married to an Outlaw and he was a nice guy who collected clown figurines.
edit: the President of the Chapter was Sonny Barger's son in Vallejo, CA.

The Patriot Guard riders have been at a few funerals for my family. My dad always shakes all their hands and thanks them for being there. Their presence is so much more than just as it was intended, to keep those hateful Fred Phelps freaks away, they are a wonderful and heartfelt connection between veterans and families in a difficult time. I love seeing them ride with their big loud bikes, leathers, and flags during the funeral procession. They have all been very, very nice when I have met them.
Thanks from Twisted Sister

They are losing steam. Hatred is a thing of a past in this nation. Well, let me restate that. I think that groups that are for nothing but hatred are at least getting out of vogue, so to speak. Whereas even 15 years ago, these guys had power because no one challenged them, I think being run off a school area by kids indicates they just are not tolerated.
Thanks from Lyzza

I don't think the Westboro Baptist Church has ever been "tolerated" by anyone.

My favorite Westboro story came out of Greenville MS. There was soldier coming home to be buried. The town got wind that Westboro was coming.

The morning of the Funeral, every car with a Missouri plate woke to find a large bubba wagon four wheel drive truck blocking them in. Of course when the owners called the police they were told there was a soldier's funeral in town and ALL state, county and local LEO's were handling traffic and escort duty. They'd respond in 2 to 4 hours.

The entire town showed up to make sure the family never got glimpse of a hateful sign.
Thanks from Sabcat and LongWinded

That's true. The fight against the hatred and this group has been going on a while.
