Two mass shootings in one day...

WOW!!!!

German rampage victims died in classrooms - CNN.com

Gunman in Alabama slayings was ex-police officer - CNN.com

What in the world is going on? Could it be signs of the affects of the theorized "behavioural sink"?

It's life, but certainly not as we want it - Opinion - smh.com.au

Fx, the report I just saw said the Alabama gunman had started training as a police officer, but that he never WORKED as such. There is a difference.

ANd between that, and a church deacon arrested for armed robbery...I have to wonder what people are lacking that they can't find better ways to deal with depression.

Hope. I heard on the news today that he had a list of employers he wanted to get back at.

Gunman in Ala. massacre left list of employers and co-workers he believed had wronged him -- Newsday.com

People are gonna start losing it. Wait change that, people have already started losing it. And I'm gonna bet it's gonna get much worse if the economy doesn't turn. We aren't the same nation were were back in the 20's. People have far less respect for each other and humanity in general these days.

I consider that all these more and more violent movies and DVDs must take some share of the 'blame'. Many young people seem to be unable to distinguish between real and fiction.....

There was a movie about the Amityville murders on TV here (u.k.) recently, and another about the Menendez brothers the week before.

Both those programmes seemed to be making excuses for the killers. I though while watching them that it would give the wrong ideas to unstable and spoilt brat teenagers. :-s

You're right. Sometimes, HOPE does seem pretty thin on the ground. And I agree it is going to be a LOT worse before it gets better. In the Great Depression, people moved around, looking for work, or did odd jobs, or went to work for the CCC. These days, most people can't grow their own veg, or keep a couple of chickens, or hope to sell handcrafted items to the few who still have extra income. What can today's masses do? How does a parent watch their children go hungry or go without medical care?
