If I am assigned watch with a sidearm and I have to use that side arm in defense of my self, crew, or government property (shit the armed watch is supposed to do) I have no sovereign immunity at all. I can expect to be arrested, questioned and forced to prove my actions. Unlike a police officer or a civmar. What I found out was the average cost of legal fees for a legal self defense shooting is about 12 grand. Needless to say to get the certificate you only have to qualify with one weapon. I qualified with the rifle (it would never get issued unless we were actually at sea and being boarded) and said thats it. I refused to qualify with handgun or shotgun. It will be the last time I will ever certify in small arms again. My opinion is no contract mariner should qualify again. The government wants a armed watch go contract a security team. Fuck them. They dont have my back I dont have theirs. Bad guys want to come on board and steal. My line of defense is run and call 911. I might throw my issued gun at them after I unload it (This would be in port, on the high seas, ironically its the law that the federal government gives me sovereign immunity). The United States Government does not have my back in matters of ships security, then I do not have theirs.
I actually agree with you.Never thought I would say that.Legal self defence shooting legal fees can run into the hundreds of thousands.Better not to fire that weapon as you describe.

Accidental Shootings ~500/year

Crimes stopped by armed citizens, 800,000 - 2,500,000 times a year.

people are 76 times (7,600 %) more likely to be accidently poisoned to death by cleaning solutions in their own home than die from an accident such as this type...
Thanks from kbear and coke

You are talking crap. 350 kids under 12 shoot them selves a year, because they don't know there playing with an explosion. 200 are killed by those kids. What about all the other deaths that occur with 12 year old and older?I think you should drink some drano. It might help clear out your brain and find the truth.

I wonder how tight the pattern was?

What pattern of which firearm?
The article did not list what sort of firearms were used, nor how many shots were fired.
There would have to be multiple shots from a single firearm for there to be ANY pattern, tight or not, at all.

However, your irrelevant gibberish aside. That was a very good job of trying to distract from the question I posed.

Why not? It was a simple question, and she seemed terribly worried that somehow families would be prevented from defending themselves in situations such as this by firearm regulations..
You mean she didn't know what she was talking about?
I agree, she doesn't.

Which is exactly why I think we'd be far better off legalizing taxing and regulating drugs just like tobacco and alcohol. The drugs would be far cheaper we'd save billions on police, court costs and prisons while creating an income stream (taxes on the drugs). Concentrate on getting addicts treatment (paid for by the taxes on the drugs) rather than long prison sentences.
Thanks from kbear, coke, Hollywood and 1 others

Your right. But still, a tight pattern insures a good kill. I hope none of the groupings missed.

She probably didn't post a list because, no one would adhere to it anyway. Why bother? How long have you been answering your own questions? The type no one was going to ask in the first place. Was that your attempt at affirming your non-question and answer? Do you wash your hands after handling lizards? There might be a connection.
Thanks from coke
