Yes, because shooting guns should be the job of every school - not reading, writing, math, science and political science.

(I don't care that they will have clay target leagues, but to suggest that they *should* have them - and from the right wing "only the 3-R's" crowd! - is absurd.
Thanks from imaginethat, Hollywood and Clara007

So should life skills !! Knowing how to open and maintain a checking account. Managing credit cards. Simple things like renting and apartment getting water and power turned on. Buying a car. Buying a house. OH and THE most important SEX EDUCATION. But nooooooooo we can't teach such practical skills. You'll figure it out once your credit is ruined, and you're living on the street with your children. Won't need a checking account then.
Thanks from webguy4 and Sabcat

Do all high school's in Illinois have Driver's Education classes?
IF not, that would be a far better use of tax-payer money.

yes, little to nothing learned in school actually applies to peoples lives.

i completely agree that sex ed should be part of education starting at pre teens. i also agree that the parents permission should be required. i do not see how this would be or is any different from gun safety.

i firmly believe that skills such as those mentioned in this post would have nothing but positive results on our society.

the state mandated schools have failed us and should be held accountable and revamped to meet the needs of society or disbanded.
Thanks from webguy4 and coke

No where in the article i posted did it say ALL KIDS should participate. Yes, they are pushing an agenda to try to get as many high schools as they can to start a competition shooting team. There is nothing wrong with that at all.
